Birchwood Boats are popular due to their construction, layout and handling. This is a classic and she has a large central cockpit which is ideal for convenience when mooring up. She benefits from twin 120 Hp engines so can turn in a relatively small space and is steady when cruising. There’s 6 Berths and 2 heads so she is ideal for family cruising and would also make a fabulous liveaboard.

Engines and Nav Gear

Twin 120 Hp. These engines have great longevity and due to their popularity and more mechanical set up spare parts are available. There are some spare belts on board.

Engines serviced - new fuel filters, oil change, 1 belt changed, 1 thermostat, both impellers changed,

The radar dome has been installed but not connected up.

Accommodation

Step on board into a decent cockpit with ample seating. The canopy was new 2020. The helm position provides good vision and makes for easy mooring. Forward there’s a dinette to port which converts to a double berth. Opposite is the galley which is equipped with hob, oven and sink. The fridge is secreted below the dinette seating and there’s a microwave set up in a large cupboard. There’s more seating forward which can be used as a twin berth. A privacy curtain is fitted too. There is a heads to starboard in the main cabin which has a sea toilet and sink with shower attachment. Moving aft of the cockpit you will find the generous Aft-Cabin with double bed, stowage and an en-suite heads to port. This has a porta potti and sink.

Exterior

Both Props removed, cleaned and refitted, rudders bonded, anode bolts removed, Gelcoat faired and new bolts and anodes fitted. Old Antifoul sanded back and hull prepared for new Antifoul.

The side decks are a good size allowing for ease of movement around the whole boat. Steps lead up to the aft deck which has spray dodgers. The deck ware is chunky with the benefit of mid ship cleats too. There’s grab rails on the coachroof. The foredeck feels sturdy under foot. The 2021 survey report summed up this vessel nicely saying “This was a well constructed vessel with a good outfit”.
