Manufacturer Provided Description
Continuing the tradition of the First 40.7, the current First 40 is clearly part of the new generation of larger Firsts: a sophisticated thoroughbred. Designed for cruising, but adaptable for racing, the interior layout is uncompromisingly modern and comfortable.
OWNER`S COMMENTS
Minx is a relatively lightly used example of her type. She has participated in the Island Sailing Club Tuesday race series, Cowes Weeks, Round the Islands, one Windsor Cup and a small number of JOG and RORC races including the 2015 Fastnet race.
She has only cruised for 3 trips to Port Solent and one to the Hamble. She has been raced by friends and family but has achieved a number of JOG wins and a small number of Cowes week podium places. She has never been involved in a grounding or been damaged in a collision.
She has been wintered ashore at Kingston Wharf in East Cowes for at least 2 months every year. In 2015 the anti-foul and primers were removed down to the gel coat and she was epoxied with gloss finish VC Tar 2. The only anti-foul used since then has been thin film VC17m graphite which has been wet sanded and replaced on a yearly basis, last done March 2018. During the warranty period the engine was professionally serviced, much of the subsequent service work has been done by experienced crew members. The engine hours meter stopped working as soon as the warranty expired but her engine hours are low(approximately 500) as I can list every time, she has left the berth.
