1990 Westerly Tempest for sale in Kent.
This Westerly Tempest built in 1990 has a white superstructure and aft cockpit. The Westerly Tempest offers excellent accommodation with six berths in three cabins with double cabins aft to port and starboard, and one double in the main saloon. She is ideal for coastal cruising, cross-channel sailing as well as club racing; this yacht is based in Dover Marina where a berth is also available.
Accommodation :
The Westerly Tempest offers a total of six berths in three cabins. The Heads are in the bow of the yacht and consist of a white sink mounted in a vanity unit, pressurised hot and cold water with shower attachment, built-in shower tray, marine toilet, mirror, and door to the large storage locker.
The main saloon has a central folding table with bench seating either side creating two single berths. The L shaped Galley is located on the starboard side in front of the double cabin and has lots of storage cupboards, a single stainless-steel sink with manually pumped cold water, gimbaled two-burner gas hob and oven. The galley also has an integrated 12v fridge. This Westerly can offer a pressurised hot and cold-water system, however this is currently out of service and will need re reinstating, the pressurised system is heated by the engine.
This boat also has a navigation area on the port side consisting of electric control switches, a chart table, and a VHF Radio. It also has storage for navigation books and charts.
The two double cabins are located aft on both the starboard and port side under the cockpit with a double berth and additional storage.
The companionway steps lead up to a large aft cockpit for a boat of its size with beach seating, tiller steering, and engine controls at the rear of the vessel

History & Construction:
Built in 1990 the Westerly Tempest was designed by Ed Dubois and built by Westerly Yachts Ltd in Hampshire. The Tempest was a smaller version of the racing orientated Westerly Storm 33. Just over one hundred Tempests were built between 1987 and 1993, when the hull and interior redesigned and renamed the Regatta 310. which remained in production until 1997.
This Westerly Tempest has a White GRP hull and decks with non-slip surfaces. It has a teak deck in the aft cockpit. Stainless steel stanchions, pulpit, swim ladder with a Self-draining cockpit. The yacht was last out of the water in 2017 when her copper-coated antifoul was cleaned, hull polished, and anodes checked.

This Westerly Tempest has a Bermudan sloop rig with deck stepped aluminium mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging, halyards, adjustable backstay and kicker, The vessel has a furling headsail with a slab reefing mainsail. Stackpack with lazy jacks. The age of the standing rigging is unknown, and the running rigging has been replaced as and when needed.

Mechanical Systems:
This Westerly has a single 18HP Volvo diesel engine powering a Shaft driven three-bladed propeller. The engine is freshwater-cooled with an 80-litre stainless steel fuel tank and cockpit Morse controls. This yacht will cruise at approximately five knots and has an approximate maximum speed of seven knots. The engine hours are unknown.
Electrical Systems:
3 x 12-volt batteries (1 x engine + 2 x domestic battery) charging from the alternator and wind generator. The yacht also has a 240v shore power system with ring main, immersion heater and 240v battery charger.
