It is hard to imagine a better boat for cruising the tough and challenging waters of the Irish Sea than this boat - "Prudence of Yar", with classic lines, uncompromising sea-going design and build - and the smell of yacht varnish envelops you when you open the wheelhouse door.
Make no mistake - this is not just a blue water Med cruiser - this is a classic heavy duty, heavy weather offshore passage maker. Similar to a Nelson but with a planing hull and a sumptuous and refined interior. Perhaps a blend of Nelson, Fairey and Corvette might be a way to describe the design.
She will sleep 6 - but is luxurious for 4. The owner's aft-cabin, with its double berth and ensuite heads compartment serves also as an owner's saloon - and the sea-going concept of the boat is demonstrated by the fact there is also a huge chart table in the aft cabin - owners of these boats are real hands-on seafarers.
The wheel house is light and spacious - with superb visability and all modern navigational aids fitted.
Down below is the tradional saloon and well equipped galley. The wrap wound dining area can be converted to a double berth.
Going forward is another heads compartment - with shower.
The forecabin has a good-sized V-berth (2 singles or makes a double berth).
We would love Prudence of Yar to remain at Preston Marina - where she is so well placed and suited to explore the fabulous cruising areas of North Wales, the Isle Of Man, the east coast of Ireland, the Mersey and Lancashire coasts, and the Fylde and Cumbria coasts, with the west coast of Scotland also within easy reach - she really is so well suited here that we will offer a discounted marina berth if she is purchased through our brokerage. In our area you need a boat that can keep making good progress at tide beating speeds in big waves -and can sustain long passages in exposed conditions, with the confidence that two strong diesel engines gives. Prudence Of Yar is such a boat, offering great comfort and classic styling into the mix.
