The Scandinavians are brilliant at building solid, high quality boats ideal for getting the most out of boating all year round in Northern latitudes. Swedish brand NIMBUS epitomise this and the 3003 model packs a huge amount of quality, capability and versatility into a very manageable sized craft.
The wheelhouse offers total protection when the weather is typically British - but when the sun does come out, the roof slides back, and the canopy can come down and she makes a delightful sun cruiser.
She is designed and therefore perfect for inshore coastal cruising. If she were to be kept at for example on the Firth of Clyde or the Scottish lochs, - or perhaps the Menai Straits or Windermere she would be in her perfect environment. She is too tall for our local canals (low bridges) but the wide rivers of east and south east England would also make superb cruising grounds for Odin. Her previous (to the current) owner of 24 years kept her in Torquay where the sheltered and beachy coastline was ideal.
The accommodation offered by the boat is amazing for only 30ft. The aft cabin has a double berth, with its own sink / vanity unit, lockers and sitting area. The spacious cockpit / wheelhouse incorporates the galley, and going forward the saloon has spacious dining, which converts to a double berth. The amazing trick up this boat's sleeve is the door in the saloon which leads to another separate cabin with a single berth. Opposite is the spacious heads compartment with shower and WC.
The woodwork around the whole boat is beautifully constructed with quality and solid materials used throughout.
The engineering is first rate, with the single 200hp Volvo Penta 6 cylinder diesel driving the solid semi-displacement hull via. a shaft drive configuration. This gives an easy 14 knots cruising speed. The current owner has never taken her beyond this speed, but he is confident that she would have more to offer if required, which is backed up by our own research reading up about other examples of this boat.
