Classic Sparkman & Stephens designed Swan from 1975 in fantastic condition and fresh from a comprehensive 2022/23 refit/restoration. Hull No.67 of 76.

One of the most iconic S&S Swan designs of all the time with 76 hulls built between 1972 and 1975. A fibreglass IOR Sloop by Sparkman & Stephens, the Swan 44 S&S was first introduced by Nautor’s Swan at the 1972 fall boat shows, at the London Boat show she was awarded the “Boat of the Yacht Show”, the first in history of a non-British built boat won.
JOCONDE is hull 67 and was launched in May 1975 and has recently benefitted from a comprehensive restoration and refit completed during 2022/23 making her one of the best presented examples of this iconic classic Sparkman & Stephens designs, confirmed by an award for ‘Most Elegant’ S&S Swan category at the 10th S&S Swan Rendezous in the summer of 2023.

CONSTRUCTION
RCD Status:
• RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.
Hull Construction:
• GRP laminate hull construction
• The hull is built of single skin construction using GRP reinforced polyester laminate. A high proportion of the fibres are unidirectional, giving a stiff laminate with excellent strength and fatigue properties.
Deck & Superstructure Construction:
• GRP deck and superstructure construction
• Underwater sections epoxy treated – 2022/23
• Hull bilges stripped and refinished with epoxy gelcoat – 2022/23

Keel & Rudder:
• The fin keel with keel ballast is cast lead alloyed with antimony.
• Cast-in keel bolts are of high-tensile stainless steel.

• The rudder blade is GRP and supported by a full length protective skeg.

Engine & gearbox:
• Yanmar 4JH2ME, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 50hp @ 3,600rpm
• Engine control via single lever control
• Freshwater cooling with heat exchanger and raw water intake and strainer.
• Yanmar KBW21 mechanical reverse gearbox with 2.17 ratio
Service & Maintenance:
