Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

 

Built to Lloyds Register approved drawings, with Lloyds approved materials and were surveyed during build. A Lloyds hull construction certificate was issued with each part-assembly on completion.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • The hulls, decks, andsuperstructures were moulded by Halmatic in Lloyds Register-approved  polyester resin, CSM, and WR mats.
  • Fitted out by James & Caddy of Weymouth, Dorset, UK.
  • Polished, varnished, serviced, and antifouled (2024).
  • Round bilged hull form, with a three-quarter length keel.
  • Painted blue GRP hull, with white GRP superstructure, and grey Treadmaster laid to side decks.
  • The hull structure consists of substantial longitudinal and transverse frames.
  • Built to Lloyds Register approved drawings, surveyed during original construction.
  • 4 structural fully bonded-in bulkheads.
  • Cockpit sole is teak-laid, with cockpit lockers featuring hinged teak-laid tops.
  • Varnished teak cappings to cockpit surround, with stainless steel canopy frame runners.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 2 x Professionally re-built Ford Sabre 180S 6-cylinder turbo-0charged and intercooled diesel engines (port engine re-built in 2022).
  • Borg Warner Velvet Drive reduction gearboxes : 1.91-1 ratio.
  • Flexible shaft couplings to conventional stuffing boxes.
  • Morse 33C cable-driven gear and throttle cables, to chrome Morse single level controls.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Maximum speed: 20 knots.
  • Comfortable cruise: 15 knots.
  • Relaxed, pleasant ride at 8 knots.
  • As part of the boat’s refit, the engines were removed from the boat and rebuilt.
  • Engine room painted - 2019.
  • Indicated engine hours : 4215 / 3515.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Vetus bow thruster & joystick control.
  • Vetus stern thruster & joystick control.
  • PropGuard finishing to stern gear.
  • New stainless-steel shafts, seals, and cutlass bearings (2018).
  • Shafts fitted with rope-cutters.
  • Three-bladed bronze propellers.
  • Mechanical steering system to twin cast bronze rudders.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • 12V switched ships battery system.

 

Battery Banks:

  • Odelco DCC4000 battery control system.
  • Domestic bank of Optima AGM batteries.
  • Engine cranking batteries.
  • Separate twin stern thruster batteries.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • New Victron battery charger/inverter (2019).

 

Alternators:

  • Fitted to each prime mover.

 

Other electrical:

  • Inverter.

 

Shore Power:

  • 220V shorepower & cable.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Hot and cold pressurized water system.
  • Water heating by Isotemp hot water calorifier, and engine heat exchange.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Manual diaphragm bilge pump at aft cockpit.
  • Two automatic Rule high-capacity electric bilge pumps, with float switch.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • Total capacity of 1,300 litres.
  • Fuel tanks are in integral GRP, fitted either side of cockpit, with inspection hatches to top.

 

Fresh Water:

  • Water tank under forward berth, in integral GRP, with large inspection hatch to top.

 

Gas:

  • Gas system upgraded and certificated in 2018.
  • Gas bottle locker.

Navigation Equipment

  • Clock, barometer & temperature indicators mounted above wheelhouse doors.
  • Raymarine Hybridtouch radar and chart plotter (2018).
  • Raymarine RMK10 remote charter/radar control (2019).
  • Raymarine AIS650 class B AIS transponder.
  • Raymarine ST60 Tridata, depth, speed, log.
  • Raytheon Type 100/300 autopilot.
  • Icom IC-M411 VHF with DSC.
  • Ritchie Powerdamp magnetic compass.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

  • Plastimo Pacific 2000 two-burner gas hob with oven.
  • Isotherm fridge.

 

Heads/Showers:

  • 1 x Lavac manual sea-toilet.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

  • Eberspacher Airtronic 2 diesel heater.
  • Opening hatches above helm and nav. seats and Tannoy-style deck vents.

 

Entertainment:

  • CD player.

 

Lighting:

  • Francis searchlight.

  • Blue fabric cushions (re-upholstered 2019).

  • Cream carpet, underlay, and curtains in wheelhouse (2019).

Deck Equipment

General:

  • Two large lazarettes, two hanging lockers.
  • Three double-arm pantograph wipers.
  • Dual horn.

 

Anchoring & Mooring Equipment:

  • Simpson Lawrence Seawolf electric anchor windlass, chain & anchor.
  • Galvanised mooring bollards and stainless-steel spring cleats.
  • Bathing/access ladder on transom.
  • Fenders and warps.

 

Covers, Canvas & Cushions:

  • New windscreen cover (2019).
  • New cockpit cover (2019).

Safety Equipment

  • 4-man Ocean Safety life raft in valise (2018 – service date unverified).

 

Fire-Fighting Equipment:

  • Seafire automatic fire suppression system (last service date unverified).
  • Fire extinguisher (last service date unverified).
