"Yakanaka" is a fine example of a 1984 J/35. Many nice upgrades, such as an Airhead, Solar Panel, and new Garmin Electronics. She is fast, capable and ready to go.
Accommodations
Entering the main cabin from the companionway steps the interior opens up to a large main cabin. Starting port aft is a quarter berth with a port light for ventilation and a storage shelf outboard forward.
Moving forward along the port side is the galley, it features storage above the work surface, a large stainless steel sink, cover above stove, gimbaled 2-burner alcohol stove and storage below sink. Lighting is supplied by a dome light attached to the bulkhead aft of the sink.
Moving forward is a settee with a shelf storage above, pocket storage behind the backrest. It features a reading light mounted on the bulkhead, placed forward of the settee and a kerosene light on the forward bulkhead as well. The saloon table is inboard and has drop leafs and storage inside table top. It also has a teak handrail above extending back into the galley.
Forward of the salon is the forward cabin that features an Air Head composting toilet, new in 2022, (2) pipe berths in the v-berth, cut-out to the chain locker and a large overhead deck hatch. cabin Turning aft to starboard you enter the starboard side of the salon that features a settee with shelf storage above and pocket storage behind the backrest. A reading light is attached to the bulkhead forward of the settee and a handrail is above attached to coach roof extending back to the navigation station.
Aft of the settee to starboard is the navigation station, it has shelf storage above work surface, (3) drawer storage below work surface, a suite of electronics. It has an ice box with access through the top of the work surface, and dome lighting on the upper end of the bulkhead just aft of the navigation station.
Continuing aft and to starboard is a second quarter berth that features a 12 volt electric panel, shelf storage above and the forward end of the bunk, ventilation overhead from an inboard port light into the cockpit.
Turning inboard and behind the companionway ladder is the engine box. The box can be removed, giving great access to the Yanmar 3GM engine
