À propos de Najad 441

English

A Najad 441, built for comfortable blue-water sailing anywhere in the world and designed to be easily handled even for short handed adventures. The large flush teak decks give her classic lines as well as making it easy and safe to work on deck. This particular yacht has been lovingly and immaculately looked after. She is fully equipped for coastal, offshore and Ocean push button sailing with electric winches. A generator and generous tankage allows you to stay away from harbour for longer periods. Preventative maintenance, replacements and upgrades have been undertaken regularly, with no expense spared. Raymarine Autohelm and Seago life raft new this year.

Construction

Legendary Najad construction.

Narnia has been carefully maintained and over wintered on the hard.every year. All winches, prop shaft, rudder, engine, generator, windlass and heads serviced annually.

In Winter 2023 all anti-foul was removed, down to the gelcoat and replaced with the Hempel Globic 9000 system (subsequently anti-fouled).

GRP with balsa core in topsides. Strengthened glass fibre laminate at stressed areas. Hull and deck laminated together in accordance with Lloyd’s specification and guidelines. Lead keel with flared base.  Deck laid with solid caulked teak. Substantial teak capping. Large self-draining locker forward for anchor chain, gas bottles etc. Two self draining lockers aft.  All through hull fittings replaced 2013.

Accommodation

Her interior is finished to an exceptionally high standard in mahogany, varnished to a satin finish. The flooring is varnished teak and holly and the upholstery, in royal blue fabric with gold piping, was re upholstered in 2008. The headlining is white vinyl and headroom is generous.

She has a largely standard Najad 441 layout with conventional “V” berth cabin forward with hanging locker and cupboards, wing cabin to starboard with two pilot berths both with lee cloths opposite the main heads and shower.

In the saloon the dining table is slightly larger and more practical than standard and rather than the standard two arm chairs there is a settee which can be a sea berth and has a lee cloth.

The galley and chart table occupy the starboard and port aft quarters of the saloon respectively. The curved non-standard companionway steps make their use at sea very safe. There is a walk through beneath the port side of the cockpit which has a wet locker.

The walk-through leads to the owner’s aft cabin which has a hanging locker; a small changing settee; a large double berth on the centre line; en-suite heads and shower; small dressing table and cupboards.

The aft cabin has two non standard port lights in the transom.  There is generous stowage throughout the boat. All bunks fitted with under cushion ventilation. Red night lights at floor level. Deckhead lights all LEDs. Blinds for skylights.

During the winter, all cushions and sails etc., have ben stowed in doors.
