OWNER’S COMMENTS:

Founded by Ted Hood, Little Harbor Yachts were built in Japan as early as 1959 and later in Holland at Franz Maas of Hollard, and then Taiwan (Lien Hwa Industrial Corp.). Hood had close relationships with the yards that were building his designs and later began manufacturing them at his own yard located in Taiwan.

The company was sold in the late 1990's and the brand was retired not long afterward. It is thought that about 200 boats were built under the Little Harbor name from 35 to 100 feet. Yachts built by Little Harbor were usually built on a semi-custom basis, so details vary widely.

DREAMCATCHER was built in 1981 in Taiwan to Lloyds specification and launched with the name Grand Jubilee. Ordered and delivered for a USA-based owner she remained in her original ownership until the 1980’s when she was sold to a UK-based owner and began her new life cruising Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea as a private yacht with occasional crewed charter.

The combination of her extremely strong GRP hull, shallow draft from her centreboard, powerful twin John Deere engines, pilothouse configuration, and powered sail handling makes her a very easy to handle sailing vessel capable of artic or tropical waters.

Our ownership began more recently, having purchased the boat from her Dutch-based owner who had begun a major refit in 2020 including replacement of her teak decks and new topsides paint. We decided to continue to the program of refit to fully-prepare DREAMCATCHER as an up to date ‘go-anywhere’ suited for luxury charter in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Her electronics, rigging, sails, deck hardware, engines were either replaced or overhauled, with a refit cost more than 400,000 Euros.

Sadly, declining health has now forced a change of plans to more land-based activities, so we have reluctantly decided to place our newly refitted DREAMCATCHER on the market. Her next owner will we rewarded with a great starting point as all the necessary jobs have been completed to get this grand lady of the oceans prepared for our intended go anywhere adventures.
