'Southerly Gem' is the first of the Series 4 Southerly 115's making the most of the class's continual development since the first Southerly 115 was built. in 1983. Developed with many features to give her a stylish and modern look, the large centre cockpit provides both comfort and safety for the crew. The well proven Rob Humphreys designed swing keel and twin rudders on the Series 4, improved the performance of the 115 and is still able to sail in less than three feet of water. 'Southerly Gem' has been in her current ownership for 12 years and proved to be a comfortable cruiser easily handled by two people.

Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Yanmar 3JH3E (2003) 40hp, three cylinder, diesel engine connected to stainless steel shaft drive. Three bladed folding propeller. Fresh water cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever Morse controls.

Two 12v domestic batteries plus single 12v engine crank battery. Batteries charged from engine alternator. 240v shore power system with Mastervolt battery charger, immersion heater and ring main. Interior lighting.

Built 2003 by Northshore Yachts. Hull number 001 of the Series 4 Southerly 115. White GRP hull and superstructure with teak laid side decks. Wheel steering to twin spade rudders. Swing Keel with min draft of 0.71m and max draft of 2.48m. Self-draining centre cockpit. Teak laid cockpit seats and sugar scoop transom. Antifouled early 2024.

Masthead rigged sloop. Silver anodised aluminium double spreader, deck stepped mast and boom by Selden Spars, 2003. Stainless steel standing rigging, 2003. Terylene running rigging, 2003. Slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks and stack pack. Furlex 200s headsail furling system. Two Lewmar 40 self-tailing halyard winches. Lewmar 8 reefing winch. Two Lewmar 44 self-tailing sheet winches. Two Lewmar 30 self-tailing mainsheet winches. Selden rod kicker. Adjustable genoa cars.
