Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Hull, surface is made in recycled carbon 100g/m2 resin rich layer with epoxy/vinyl ester resin. Surface, after demolding, is grinded and applied two layers of epoxy primer. Any colour PU base is applied. Final layer is two component PU clear coat, able to be locally repaired and polished.
  • Colour: any you want.
  • Deck and other composite parts surface are produced in highest quality vinyl ester NPG gel coat with hand applied epoxy/vinyl ester tie-coat.
  • NPG for deck is RAL 9016 and RAL7044.
  • Hull, deck, structural bulkheads and structural members of hull and deck are built in Epoxy/vinyl ester resin and hybrid, Carbon and Glass fibres laminate with high performance PVC core, using vacuum infusion lamination process.
  • During vacuum infusion process of bigger parts, like hull and deck, resin transfer and curing process is monitored with thermal camera.
  • Internal structure and gussets in solid epoxy vinyl ester-Carbon and epoxy vinyl ester- Glass laminate is bonded to both hull and deck with high-performance epoxy vinyl ester bonding paste.
  • Forepeak and aft bulkhead are watertight. The space in front of the forward bulkhead below the anchor well is filled with closed-cell PU or Epoxy foam creating watertight crash box.
  • Structural composite parts are post-cured for longer period to achieve full resin polymerization and maximum laminate performance.
  • Hull cove and decorative stripes are in PU paint or adhesive film.
  • Hull and deck inner surfaces and structure outer composite surfaces are sealed / painted with two component polyurethane or epoxy vinyl ester paint. All bilges to waterline are painted grey for easier inspection and cleaning.
  • Artificial decking, on deck, folding platform, cockpit floor and cockpit seats.
  • Folding platform with stainless steel hinges, manually operated, with 8mm dyneema rope and cam cleat to fix it in upright position. Rope is lead to port forward winch.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Access to upper rudder bearings for emergency steering on cockpit floor.
  • A hydro dynamically optimized cast iron fin and low drag lead bulb form keel.
  • A big surface and thick keel plate spread loads of keel righting moment and grounding forces to composite structure of the boat.
  • Keel plate is bolted to hull with 12 high-tensile stainless-steel bolts with stiff backing plates.
  • Twin (2) spade rudders are a high ratio air foil section in glass/vinyl ester laminate with stainless steel rudder stock.
  • 4 Self-alignment rudder bearings (two upper and two lower bearings).
  • One (1) Emergency steering handle stored in technical room.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • Volvo D2-75 Diesel engine, 4 cylinders, turbocharged with intercooler.
  • Engine is mounted on resilient mounts with special rubber to prevent excessive vibration.
  • Sail drive.
  • Engine room compartment carefully sound isolated.
  • Access to motor from 3 sides (port & starboard technical room and cockpit).
  • The starting key (main engine switchboard) is located on the port steering console, with control lights and alarm buzzer and revolution indicator.
  • Cooling water intake for the controllers.
  • Mechanical cooling water filter in port technical room.
  • A plastic water lock is mounted in “engine” room.
  • Exhaust tube runs at shortest way to port side to stainless steel hull exhaust, above water line.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • 3 blade folding GORI propeller.
  • Steering system is mechanic with cardan system.
  • 1,5 turns from max-to-max rudder position, rudder angle +/- 35 degrees.
  • Two rudder blades are connected with rigid rod to maintain constant relative position.
  • Two rudders.
  • Mechanical autopilot is integrated in mechanical steering box, port side.
  • Sleipner SLR 130, retractable bow thruster 24VDC 6,5 Kw, 250mm diameter propeller tunnel, with 160kg thrust.
  • Bow thruster is installed in water isolated composite compartment under forward Veeberth, in case of damage water remains in this compartment.
  • Thruster pushbutton controls on starboard steering console.
  • 2 Steering console pedestals, 90cm diameter composite steering wheels with mechanical steering mechanism.
  • Space for instrumentation on each console; up to 1x 12” chart plotter, 1x Autopilot, 2x multi display.
  • Bow thruster controls on starboard console.
  • Engine control panel on starboard side console.
  • Windlass control panel with chain counter on starboard side.
  • Foot stops at steering position.

  • Opening hatch in cockpit floor for access to engine room with hinges and lock.

Electrical Systems

 

Voltage Systems:

  • The AC system is 230Vac, 50 hertz, single phase.
  • Shore power, generator and 24/5000W inverter supply are feed to AC Distribution Switchboard.
  • Marinco 220 VAC / 16 Amp Shore-Power Deck connector in starboard rope storage.
  • Marinco 20 m Shore Power Cord Set.
  • Galvanic Isolator Victron VDI-32.
  • Automatic Commutation Selector Switch (Shore-Generator-Inverter).
  • DC charger, DC inverter, 2 x solar MPPT control boxes, DC Electric panel, AC electric panel.
  • AC Grounding Bus is connected to DC Main Negative Bus. The single point, at which all the bonding and grounding circuits are connected (current carrying circuits).
  • DC Main Negative Bus is connected to Grounding Bus connecting chain plates, electronics ground plates, seacocks, strainers (non-current carrying circuits).
  • Adequate Zinc Anode size/mass is installed in hull recess.
  • Rudders will be protected against galvanic current according manufacturer’s instruction.
  • Deck Equipment (Winches, Windlass, Bow Thruster) is protected against galvanic current according manufacturer’s instructions.

 

Battery Banks:

  • 24 VDC Service Battery Bank; 2 Pcs Batteries LiFePO4 Battery 25,6V/200Ah.

  • Cooling water intake in port technical room, with seacock and marine electric toilets, easy accessible for cleaning.

  • 40 l hot water heater (220 V on shore cable or engine heat exchanger) in aft part of settee, easy accessible for checks and maintenance. Heater connected to engine heat exchanger.

Bilge Pumps:

  • A hand operated bilge pump (high capacity) at the helmsman position on starboard side, taking water from the main bilge to overboard.
  • There are two 24V bilges in main bilge, Rule 3700 or similar, 250 litres/minute capacity, each having an integrated automatic switch.
  • One 24V bilge in engine compartment Rule 3700 or similar, 130 litres/minute capacity, each having an integrated automatic switch.
  • One 24V bilge in dinghy garage Rule 3700 or similar, 130 litres/minute capacity, each having an integrated automatic switch.

Fuel:

  • Total capacity of 480 litres (106 gallons); under salon settee.
  • Diesel tank ventilation in starboard rope storage locker for easy checks and prevention of fuel spillage.
  • Two fuel filters and water separator.
  • Two, redundant fuel filters with manual switch.

  • Tank interior is painted with food grade Epoxy paint with food grade certificate.
  • Tank inspection cover for cleaning, 260mm diameter.
  • Both tanks connected with cross line with separate closing valves (possibility to isolate tanks).
