Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • GRP hull is laid up single skin with structural stringers and floors to Lloyds approved design specification.
  • Hull colour white with cove line and double boot top lines in standard Oyster Blue.
  • Watertight door and bulkhead to forepeak.
  • Deck structure moulded in GRP with balsa core.
  • Teak laid decks.
  • Bulwark finished with varnished teak capping rail with stainless steel fairleads.
  • Oyster deck saloon profile with “eyebrow” styling.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • High performance bulb keel.
  • Fully protected skeg-hung rudder, which was dropped for service + new bearings fitted 2011.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 1 x Perkins Sabre M225Ti of 165.5kW (225HP).
  • Engine hours – the meter shows now at approx. 3,200. The meter has been changed in the past and therefore total hours are unknown. We believe total to be approx. 8,000 hours.
  • Hurth 630 gearbox giving 2:1 reduction.
  • Twin duplex fuel filter with changeover and vacuum condition gauge.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Engine and transmission serviced annually in current ownership, engine runs well.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • 3-bladed 750mm (30”) diameter – MaxProp feathering propeller.
  • Steering is by a Whitlock rod system, installed with twin remote pedestals, each incorporating a 1m (39”) diameter, destroyer type, stainless steel wheel.
  • Leather covers to wheels.
  • Emergency tiller steering.

 

Bowthruster:

  • Sleipner 15HP tunnel bowthruster, new 2006 – refit 2022.
  • Control joystick and switches at port helm.

Electrical Equipment

Voltage Systems:

  • 24V electrical ship´s supply.
  • Mains 220V AC ring main with UK style 3 pin sockets, located as appropriate within the layout.
  • 12V sockets at anchor locker and chart table.
  • 12V waterproof socket at cockpit.
  • Shaver sockets to all heads.
  • 2 x European style sockets at chart table.

 

Battery Banks:

  • New service batteries June 2024: 2 x banks of 6 x Mastervolt maintenance free 2V 1000 Ah each gel batteries.
  • Engine start batteries: 2 x red Odyssey Extreme 34/78 – PC 1500.
  • Generator start battery: 1 x blue Optima bluetop 12V lead acid.
  • Emergency link system between domestic and engine start 24V batteries.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Two - Mastervolt Chargemaster Plus 24V 110-2 automatic battery chargers.
  • Mastervolt Mass Sine 220V wave inverter 24v/2500A.
  • Mastervolt IVO 8772 24v-12v 20 A DC/DC converter.
  • Victron Energy Blue Smart charger, 12v, 15amp.

 

Alternators:

  • 2 x alternators on main engine, one for engine start batteries (40A), and one for domestic  batteries (175A).
  • Alternator on gen set for generator start battery.

 

Generator:

  • Onan 17.5 kw generator – new 2010.
  • Generator hours 2,842 as of July 2024.
  • Generator serviced annually in current ownership and runs well.

 

Shore Power:

  • 30 Amp dockside power cable in 3-core double insulated PVC, 20m in length.
  • Hubbell socket in transom.
  • Additional 30A shore power socket and cable.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Hot water from an insulated 64 litres (14 imp / 17 US gallons) tank heated by the engine’s heat exchanger, or by thermostatically controlled 220V, 2kW immersion heater elements powered by the generator or dockside power.
  • Twin freshwater pump system.

 

Watermaker:

  • Seafresh 208A 220V watermaker giving approx. 200 litres (44 imp/33 gallons) per hour.
  • The system was upgraded 2010. Whilst elderly it works well and is maintained.
  • Control unit under saloon raised seating area.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Jabsco electric bilge pump 24V.
  • Henderson manual bilge pump.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • 2,200 litres (484 imp/581 US gallons) in 2 x GRP tanks.

 

Fresh Water:

  • 1,600 litres (352 imp/423 US gallons) in 2 x GRP tanks.
  • Hart tank tender gauges.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

  • 2 x grey water tanks, each fitted with a Par hydro air switch and Whale Gulper pump, for automatic evacuation of all showers and washbasins.
  • 3 x gravity discharge holding tanks – 1 forward plus 2 aft - each fitted with Wema electric tank gauges.

Navigation Equipment

  • Raymarine instruments – new 2021.
  • Hybrid touch screen at starboard helm and chart table.
  • Raymarine radar scanner on mast.
  • Raymarine autopilot, control at port helm and at chart table.
  • MFD at chart table.
  • MFD at owners cabin desk.
  • 2 x MFD at starboard pedestal.
