Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Awlgrip painted topsides, dark blue; with waterline and Cove stripes in white; double coaming stripes in dark blue.
  • Transom folds out hydraulically to form a swim platform with ladder to deck, separate bathing ladder.
  • Teak laid side decks, centreline recess, either side of entrance and coaming tops fore and aft, all originally of 12mm (increased from standard 9mm).
  • Teak toe rail, including open roller fairleads (fore, aft, and amidships).
  • Deck is of sandwich construction, using multiaxial glass fibre reinforced vinylester laminate and a low-density closed cell foam core.
  • Full teak deck with additional teak work on coach roof and coamings, grey caulking.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Elliptical spade rudder with self-aligning bearings and composite stock.
  • Rudder bearings – replaced 2014.
  • Elliptical spade rudder.
  • Lead keel, with bulb.
  • Designed ballast weight: 6,230kg (13,700lb).

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 1 x Yanmar 4JH-110 81 kW / 110 hp diesel engine – new 2022.
  • KM4A-2A 1:2.63 gearbox.
  • Reverse oil change pump (not currently connected to engine and generator).
  • Twin fuel filter system.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Engine hours – approx. 650 as of October 2024.
  • Fully serviced and commissioned 2022.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Feathering three blade propellers.
  • 70” steering wheels.

 

Bowthruster:

  • Retractable bowthruster, Maxpower 24v including separate battery bank 220Ah and 25A charger.
  • Joystick control at helm.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • DC 24 V : AC 230 V.
  • 230v and 115v inlets at aft coaming plus an extra 230v inlet at foredeck.
  • Victron Energy Cerbo GX with Touch 70 display control and monitoring – new 2022.
  • Remote monitoring and control possible via Victron Energy online VRM service.

 

Battery Banks:

  • Service batteries – 24v Li-ion batteries from Victron Energy (2 x 24v Li-ion HE 200Ah batteries). In total 10kWh capacity. New 2018-19. Located under centre saloon sofa cushion, next to mast encasing.
  • Separate radio battery bank, 24v 100Ah. Li-ion with integrated BMS. New 2021.
  • Start battery, main engine 12v lead acid battery Varta 12v 900 CCS. Located under floor by chart table. New 2024.
  • Bowthruster battery bank, 4 x 12v lead-acid batteries – new 2021. Located under bed port side in forward cabin.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Intelligent charger/inverter for service batteries, 230v, Victron Energy 5kVA Quattro.
  • Battery bank charger for radio bank battery, 230v, Victron Energy 24V/8A – 2024.
  • Battery bank charger for bow thruster bank battery, 230v, Mastervolt XX/YY.
  • Victron Energy Bluesolar charge controller MPPT 75 115 (solar panel controller, no panels included).

 

Generator:

  • 1 x Fischer Panda 10000i PMS, 8 kW diesel genset – 2022.
  • Approx. 175 hours as of September 2024.

 

Shore Power:

  • Shore power inlets 230v and 115v via 6kVA transformer, including cables (inside voltage 230v).
  • Separate shore inlet 230v, 50A for air conditioning (at aft coaming).

 

Note: In combination with the Li-ion battery bank, the Quattro charger/inverter can automatically switch between various power sources such as shore, generator, or inverting from the 24v service battery bank. If required, the monitoring and control unit (Cerbo GX) will start up the genset to top up the batteries or provide a boost of energy. If the Quattro system were to fail, there is a fallback system installed, so that one can simply switch to either shore or generator for power provisioning (as on an original Swan 56).

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Electrical water heating tank powered by AC shore, and underway heated by main engine.

 

Watermaker:

  • 1 x Spectra Catalina 340c 24v DC, 1400 l/day (59 l/h) with remote panel at chart table and automatic fresh water flushing system – new 2022.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Electric bilge pump, manual and auto control.
  • 2 x Manual bilge pumps.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • Total fuel capacity of 570 litres in 3 stainless steel tanks.

 

Fresh Water:

  • Total freshwater capacity of 670 litres in 3 stainless steel tanks.

 

Note: One of the freshwater tanks can optionally be converted to become a fourth diesel tank.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

  • 2 x Grey water sump tanks, one forward and one aft.
  • 2 x Stainless steel holding tanks (one forward and one aft) with electric pump and deck suction line for both toilets.

Navigation Equipment

  • B&G 5000 Performance CPU unit, including analogue wind / log sensors and barometer, depth + water temperature, compass, GPS, 3D motion sensor connected via NMEA2000 network.
  • 2 x H5000 displays in aft cockpit.
  • B&G H5000 autopilot unit, hydraulic RAM T3 24v, control by helm on starboard side or on Zeus plotters.
  • 2 x B&G Zeus3 chart plotters, one Zeus3 9” (2018) at pedestal and one Zeus3S 9” (2022) at nav station.
  • B&G H60 VHF wireless handset/intercom in cockpit.
  • B&G V60 VHF at chart table. Handset connects to this unit.
  • B&G Halo 24” radar. Scanner mounted on self-levelling Scanstrut LMM-1 on pole at stern.
  • B&G NEP-2 network expansion unit (allows radar to be viewed from both Zeus units).
  • B&G WR10 Bluetooth remote control for autopilot.
  • B&G AIS V3100 class-B SOTDMA.
  • Suunto Nautor Swan binnacle compass.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

  • Force 10 3-burner stove with oven (grill not working).
  • Front loaded refrigerator above countertop – new seals 2023.
  • Top loaded freezer – new seals 2023.
  • Isotherm 24v compressors for fridge and freezer – new 2018.
  • Vitrifrigo 24v fridge on port side adjacent to galley – new 2022.
  • Extra stainless steel fridge drawer on starboard side adjacent to nav station – 2022.
  • Soba Babynova 1150 Rapid washing machine – 2017.
  • Microwave oven.

 

Heads/Showers:

  • Deck shower, hot and cold.
  • 2 x Dometic Sealand VacuFlush marine toilets. Serviced 2023.
  • Sink and shower in each head.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

  • Air conditioning, Marine Air 38,000 BTU 230v, supply to aft cabin (12,000 BTU), saloon (16,000 BTU) and forward cabin (10,000 BTU) with extra outlet to fo´c´sle (Note: forward cabin unit not working).
  • Eberspacher Hydronic MII D10 heater with 3 x distribution units throughout – new 2020. Note: requires recommissioning by a qualified technician to get in service again.

 

Entertainment:

  • TV / audio on board from previous owner. Entertainment system for TV not working but can be connected to PC via HDMI cable. Audio system working, but several speakers no longer work. The audio system is outdated – today portable Bluetooth speakers are more suitable for audio.

 

Lighting:

  • Tricolour masthead light with light sensor anchor light + SOS mode.
  • Luff light on foredeck.
  • LED spread lights.
  • LED flood light foredeck.
