Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • The hull is built of glass fibre-reinforced polyester by the hand laying-up method, using alternative layers of mat and roving.
  • Stiffeners are laid up over foam cores and reinforced with unidirectional glass.
  • Structural bulkheads are of marine grade water-proof plywood laminated to hull and deck.
  • Engine beds are of GRP with steel inserts. Special care is taken to assure rigid foundation and proper adhesion to hull.
  • The mast is stepped through deck onto a metal mast step with movable shoe for mast rake adjustment. Tie rods at mast.
  • Laminated reinforcements on the main bulkhead for the stainless-steel chain plates.
  • Hull topsides painting with Awlgrip in dark “Midnight Blue” with white stripes – 2019.
  • Osmosis treatment at Audax shipyard – 2022/23.
  • Extended negative/reverse transom with hydraulic opening hatch including stainless steel ladder and steps and teak bathing platform.
  • Smoke coloured hull windows with blue aluminium frames (2 x in saloon, 1 x at chart table, 1 x at galley).

 

Note: In 2022-23, a complete and thorough epoxy treatment was made on the underwater hull in Audax shipyard, Palma. The yacht was ashore from October 2022 until May 2023. Gelcoat was removed, hull dried,hull coated with epoxy, seacocks serviced. New antifouling and hull polished in June 2024.

 

Deck Construction:

  • Deck is made in foam-cored GRP sandwich construction.
  • Single laminate with aluminium back-up plates under deck fittings.
  • Coach roof white gelcoat with dark blue coaming stripes.
  • Teak laid side decks, cabin trunk, sun deck and cockpit coaming, original.
  • Lazarette and deck stowage in coaming aft.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Keel with standard draft 2.60m.
  • Ballast keel is a lead casting with antimony.
  • Cast-in keel bolts are of high tensile stainless steel.
  • Spade rudder of foam filled GRP with high-tensile tubular stainless-steel stock, supported by two roller bearings.
  • Ballast 9,030kg.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • Perkins 4 M135 marine diesel engine. 86.5 kW (116 hp) at 2800 rpm.
  • Hurth hydraulic reverse/reduction gear box 2.52: 1.
  • Engine hours – approx. 2,870 @ November 2024.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Range under power – approx. 1,200nm @ 6.5 knots.
  • Max speed approx. 8.5 knots.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • 3 blade MaxProp feathering propeller.
  • 42” steering wheel in centre cockpit.
  • Standard Nautor steering system with cables and quadrant.

 

Other Mechanical Equipment:

  • Bowthruster - Meissner hydraulic 15 hp retracting bowthruster, controlled from helm with joystick.
  • Reckmann hydraulic pump with 7 functions to drive: 2 x primary winches, mainsheet winch, transom hatch, furling main, outhaul, furling headstay.


Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • Service power 24v 650Ah.

 

Battery Banks:

  • Service batteries – 2016.
  • Engine start batteries – 2024.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Victron Skylla battery charger 24v/80 Amp, 220v.

 

Generator:

  • Westerbeke BTDA 9.4 kva, diesel.
  • Generator hours – 2,035 @ June 2024.
  • Installed in engine room.

 

Shore Power:

  • 220V, 25 A incl. land connection cable, polarity alarm and outlets.

 

Other Electrical:

  • 2 x Victron Atlas inverters for the 220V equipment at nav area and for TV.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Deck shower hot/cold mounted in bathing platform.
  • Deck wash, seawater, outlet forward.

 

Watermaker:

  • Sea Recovery Aqua Cube SRC 600 with fresh water flushing system.
  • Unit under port guest bed and control panel at chart table.
  • The watermaker has been run up, serviced and operated in June 2024. It works but the output is slightly low and new membranes should be installed.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Electric bilge pump, manual and auto control.
  • Grundfors bilge pump 220V, 250 litres per min.
  • 2 x manual bilge pumps.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • Fuel capacity 620 litres as standard in 2 tanks.
  • Plus 2 x additional fuel tanks each 150 litres. 920 total capacity.

 

Fresh Water:

  • Water capacity 880 litres in 4 tanks, as standard.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

  • 1 x stainless holding tank with electric pump and deck suction line, 2 of 3 toilets are connected.
  • Electric shower sump tank pumps for both showers, plus the standard manual pumps.
  • Galley sinks drain via a seacock.
  • Shower trays and washbasin drain to respective sump tank, with capacity approx. 60 litres each.

Navigation Equipment

  • Brookes & Gatehouse Hydra 2 instruments, including:
    1. Analogue repeaters for wind direction, magnified wind, and depth over main companionway.
    2. 3 x MFD repeater units (1 x over companionway, 1 x at chart table, 1 x in aft cabin).
  • Autohelm ST 7001+ linear drive hydraulic autopilot.
  • Furuno GPS GP 32 – 2014.
  • Furuno 1831 radar (screen in cockpit locker by companionway, scanner on mast).
  • Plotter screen at helm crash bar – 2014.
  • Suunto binnacle compass.
  • Autohelm personal compass.
  • Wempe marine barograph, clock, and barometer.

 

Communication Equipment:

  • Yaesu FRG 100 communications receiver.
  • Sailor C 4901 VHF radio with handsets at chart table and helm.
  • Thrane and Thrane radio handset at chart table with Standard M Sat Com system.
  • 2 x handheld VHF radio, Silva Star M 298.

 

Computer Equipment and Aerials:

  • Tiny Byte computer screen at chart table.
  • Computer with Windows XP, keyboard, mouse.
  • Canon jet printer.
  • Ricoh fax.
  • Delta 200 aerial with Windex (for VHF, TV/FM).
  • Insulated backstay (receiver or transmitter aerial).
  • AIS – 2014.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

  • Iceberg 220V refrigerator and freezer system, in addition to standard engine system.
  • Freezer may also be used as a refrigerator with control valves easily accessible.

 

Heads/Showers:

  • 3 x Vacuflush, fresh water flushing electric toilets.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

  • Ducting and controls for Eberspacher D7W waterborne cabin heating (no unit in crew cabin) are in place, but the unit itself is not operational and a buyer will need to replace if they desire this.
  • Marine Air air conditioning, 9000 BTU for aft cabin, 7000 BTU for both guest cabins.
  • 9 x Hella Turbo ventilation fans.

 

Entertainment:

  • Sony radio cassette player with 2 sets of speakers (saloon and aft cabin).
  • 2 x Sony CD changer (saloon and aft cabin).
  • Sony speakers in cockpit and guest cabins.
