Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 50DS – 2008/2009 - £232,500 (UK VAT Paid)

The Sun Odyssey 50DS has been a very successful model for Jeanneau over the years. She is an attractive, stylish and modern looking yacht externally and has an extremely light, airy, comfortable and functional interior layout with 3 double cabins each with en-suites, a large sociable saloon and a really good galley.

The huge aft cabin is the envy of many other yachts – with a queen sized centre-line berth, amble storage and en-suite access to the aft shower & heads, appealing to sailors who enjoy the generous aft cabin of a center cockpit yacht, without the limitations of a smaller saloon and cockpit space often found on center cockpit yachts.

Featuring a large volume of storage throughout and excellent long-legged performance, she would make a first class passage maker and long distance cruiser.

For much of the past 7 years while ‘Wild Angel’ has been based in Plymouth, she has been maintained by a professional marine engineer (ex-Princess Boats) - This boat has truly wanted for nothing.

Inventory highlights for ‘Wild Angel’ include:

• Yanmar 4JH4-HTE 110hp Turbocharged diesel engine, continually maintained throughout current ownership

• Bow and stern thrusters with dual toggle controls at each helm position

• Complete new Raymarine instrument system fitted with Axiom 12” plotter, digital radar scanner & i70 displays (2022/23)

• All new thru-hull valves & skin fittings (16 in total!) fitted in 2023

• Dometic Marine Air Conditioning throughout with outlets in all cabin areas and individual controls

• Horizon Seafari Mini 550 (87L/Hr or 23 Gal per hour) Reverse Osmosis watermaker

• Fischer Panda 10000i PMS 10kVA diesel Genset (Fitted in 2015)

• Webasto diesel fired blown air heating system

• Honwave Tender and Outboard

• All Electric Harken winches (4)

• Dark blue hull with gold trim and full teak laid decks

Accommodation

The Sun Odyssey 50 DS is an indulgently spacious design offering a splendid owners aft cabin with a centre-line double berth and an en-suite heads with a separate show stall.

On this layout, there are a further two forward double cabins, each with their own en-suite heads. Additionally the saloon's starboard side seating can convert to a double berth if required.

All overhead deck hatches are fitted with combined roller blinds and insect screens.

Webasto diesel warm air heating system and also a full Air Conditioning system is fitted with outlets in all cabins for comfort in hot weather.

A stereo radio/CD player is fitted in the main saloon, with a pair of speakers here and duplicated by waterproof speakers in the cockpit.

From forward: The two forward cabins are mirrored with a double berth in each along with an ensuite heads compartment. There is a removable longitudinal bulkhead between the forward cabins to potentially create one large full beam cabin. Individual air conditioning controls & vent in each cabin. A hanging locker, with shelved storage is also fitted on the forward end of each double berth.

The forward En-suite heads compartments are generous in size, with a combination shower/mixer tap facility to the hand basin and draining sump.

A mirrored and fiddled shelved locker is provided above the hand basin, with

Light and ventilation is provided by an overhead hatch.

The starboard forward heads is equipped with an electric Jabsco marine toilet fitted with a holding tank facility provided, while the port forward heads have a manual Jabsco sea toilet.

Saloon: The main saloon is at a raised level - a step above that of the forward cabins - and refreshing light levels are encouraged by generous and stylish side windows, combining with overhead hatches/windows in the leading edge of the coachroof and fixed, hull-side portlights to either side. The 'light and bright' theme continues through the colour of the upholstery and use of warm toned wood veneers and contrasting hardwoods.

A large pedestal-mounted table is offset to starboard, with welcoming wrap-around seating offering some snugness for after dark, and two individual chairs on the centerline (with tiedown bolts) The table may be lowered and a cushion is included to be able to use the seating in conjunction with the table as a double berth if needed.

To port opposite the saloon table is a comfortable settee sofa with a large drinks and/or glasses cupboard adjoining the nav area.

Nav Area: A fixed and forward-facing 'Chart Table' is located toward the aft end of the saloon to port, with its own dedicated navigator's seat. 12v DC and AC electrical distribution panels are located immediately alongside the navigator's left side in this area. An entertainment radio/CD player by Sony is located here too, connected to a pair of saloon speakers and two waterproof cockpit speakers.

A 240V AC, flat-screened TV/DVD player is bulkhead-mounted to the port forward end of the saloon and remains with the boat upon a sale.

Galley Area: A large primarily L-shaped galley to starboard incorporates twin stainless steel sinks and a large, top and front opening 180 litre Vitrifrigo refrigerated cool box, with a further top opening fridge adjoining. An Eno gas cooker with a three burner hob and oven is fitted and protected by a stainless crash bar, with a 220-240V AC Sage convection oven & microwave fitted above and outboard of the cooker.

The closed stowage offered by this galley is practicable as much by dint of sheer volume, as by particularly clever design – it works as a result of refreshing simplicity combined with space in all areas.

Aft Master Cabin: Abaft the galley, accessed through a doorway to starboard of the companionway, the Master Cabin's centreline double berth is lit from above by an opening hatch and from each side by fixed hull ports. Two opening port lights to the coach roof sides also ensure good cross ventilation, and of course an Air Conditioning outlet in hot climes. Dressing seats are fitted to either side of the cabin, with hanging/shelved lockers on each side.

To either side of the berth itself, there are top-access lockers for bulky clothing. A deep-fiddled top to the rear access of the engine space provides useful small-item stowage with two lockers above. To starboard there is a fold down vanity table with mirror, combines with the foot of the berth for hair brushing and make-up application.

Door to the port side en-suite facilities for the aft master cabin. Generous headroom offers practicable showering with a Plexiglas folding shower screen.

An electric Jabsco marine toilet is fitted with a holding tank facility provided.
