Loon is probably the best example of a well cared for Cape Dory you will find. The boat was completely gone through in 2020 including a new mast and new Yanmar 6.5hp diesel motor.Sails are about 2016 and still look new. Loon has it's own 2020 Triad trailer for easy winter storage right in your driveway. If you know Cape Dory, or bother to research the builder, you know their detail to build quality is superb. This 22' boat will be perfect for the afternoon pick nick or a weekend at you favorite anchorage.

Hull
The hull is made of fiberglass. Generally, a hull made of fiberglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all. 2020 Rig

The Cape Dory 22 is equipped with a long keel. A full keel provide a better directional stability than a similar boat with a fin keel; on the other hand, better directional stability means also that the boat is more difficult to handle in a harbor with less space.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 3'.
