English
"Georgia" is a Botin designed IRC 52 footer based on the TP52 hull of Emirates Team New Zealand from 2009.
This lightening fast hull shape was then paired with a new deck and interior design as specified by her hugely experienced owner, who wanted TP performance with fewer crew numbers and a much more desirable interior space.
The impeccable build from Cookson Boats clearly achieved the objectives and ever since launching she has been one the very top performers on the New Zealand 52ft scene, as well as impressing over the ditch in Australia.
Georgia is a truly special yacht, with high level performance in her DNA and can offer owners TP52 performance with a touch more class.

Georgia History:
Direct from the drafting board of the duo that designed Emirates Team New Zealand's Audi Med Cup winning yacht, GEORGIA was built and designed to perform at the top level, taking all the learnings of the Med Cup teams at the time.
The sixth in a series called ‘Georgia' for a hugely experienced Kiwi owner, the boat, which an almost identical sistership to the Emirates Team New Zealand Med Cup TP took the class by storm in that era.
Georgia is a boat built using the same hull mould as ETNZ, but customizing it for IRC racing, which is popular Worldwide, adding more interior space and a new deck design, better suited for a smaller crew.
Campaigned in NZ and Australia since new , she is one of the benchmark 52's on the local scene and offers performance without the typical discomfort that TP52's inherently carry.
Built by world renowned Cookson Boats, Georgia is high level throughout and accommodates a more comfortable interior, as well as heavier bulb and taller rig compared to a conventional TP52 platform.

Optimization story:
As with any successful yacht, its important not to stand still as time moves by and that is exactly the case for GEORGIA.
Initially in 2011 the keel fin was redesigned by ETNZ and increased by 300mm, as the IRC rule became friendlier to draft measurements.
A second fin re-design in 2017 by Nick Holroyd (ETNZ), did not change the depth, but did improve the underwater profile on top of a 400kg weight reduction from the bulb, as general conditions were seemingly getting lighter for local competition.
Modified rudder blade area/section, which was incorporated onto the original rudder stock in 2015.
All upgrades were a proven success, paired with sail plan developments and deck hardware updates.
