The PDQ 36 Capella is a well built cruising cats designed for families and not as charter vessels. Overall, 100 of these were built starting in 1988 and the last was completed in 2005, making it a very successful cruising catamaran.
The hulls are solid fiberglass below the waterline and cored with Klegacell foam above. The decks are also foam cored, except in areas of high loads where fittings are attached. Those areas are solid fiberglass.
The interior is very practical and suited for extended cruising. The salon features a large folding table with wrap around settees. Each hull is down three steps from the salon. Both hulls have queen berths with heads that feature a separate stall shower. The starboard hull has a navigation table and electrical panel, and the port hull houses the galley which includes a double sink, two burner stove and oven, Adler Barbour refrigeration and plenty of counter space.
