Notably, "Saraffina" lacks an onboard engine but offers a cosy cuddy with two bunks. The topsides are painted in white enamel with a dark green top strake, while the bottom is coated with green antifouling. ‘Saraffina’ is a sloop rigged day-sailing yacht, designed by BL Dunphy and built by Wm Partington Marine (1964) The round bilge hull has a spoon bow, long keel and a counter stern. The superstructure consists of fore, side and aft decks with coachroof and an open cockpit. The yacht is fractional sloop rigged. Side mounted outboard bracket
CONSTRUCTION: The hull is of a typical carvel timber construction. The centreline, garboards and sheer strake are of teak; the remainder of the planking is of pitch pine. The planking is copper clench fastened to closely spaced steam-bent oak ribs and screw fastened to grown oak floors. The lead keel is fastened with aluminium bronze bolts.
The deck is of plywood on oak and pine beams. The coachroof and cockpit coamings are of teak, the roof is of plywood. The cockpit coamings are capped by brass convex strips.
There is a gunmetal stemhead roller, bronze forestay fitting, oak mooring post and stern cleat, stainless steel chain plates, teak coachroof handrails and toerails, stainless steel mainsheet horse.Chrome plated sheet winches. Stainless steel single height guardrails wires and stancions and pulpit. A single acrylic portlight is fitted in each side of the coachroof.
The mast and boom are of spruce, with an aluminium headsail reefing system and stainless steel standing rigging. There is a suit of sails.
The topsides are finished in white enamel with a dark green top strake. The bottom is coated with green antifouling. The hull interior is painted white. The deck and cabin roof are painted with fawn deck paint; the coachroof sides, coamings and toerails are varnished.
