About this Najad 380

Just arrived on the market, a very rare and desirable Najad 380 in superb condition.

With just one owner from new, she is a beautiful example of the marque, with immaculate interior woodwork and a host of cruising upgrades. She has a bow thruster, Rutland generator new in 2020, new stern gland in 2020 and new standing rigging in 2020.

Spacious and comfortable with fantastic headroom and storage; the Swedish build quality makes this a 'go anywhere' boat.

Construction

The hull is hand laid in a sandwich construction of tri-axial rowing with ISO glass fibre re-enforced Polyester. 

The surface layer is of NGA gelcoat in white with carmine red trim and with inlaid water-lines.

Divini-cell coring is used in much of the hull, giving exceptional strength, rigidity and insulation and there is solid lamination at the skin fittings and jointing.

The internal construction of the yacht is re-enforced with longitudinal stringers and transverse floors; in order to support the keel fittings, mast pillar, engine frame, tanks and cabin floor. There are additional fore and aft re-enforcements in the hull too.

All main bulkheads are laminated to the hull as well as the transverse chainplate fittings The hull and deck are bolt jointed and bonded together and the mast compression post is bolted to the floor plate construction.

The rudder is mounted on a half length skeg.

There is an integral swimming platform with stainless steel swimming & safety ladder on the transom.

 

Cockpit & Decks

  • Spacious cockpit with gloss varnish finish to large shelves and door trims beneath a fixed glass windscreen. 
  • There is an opening in the middle window of the windscreen, which was re-sealed  in 2024.
  • High gloss varnished chart table area and companionway cover.
  • Grab handle on the outside of the windscreen and leather covered handrail on the sprayhood frame.
  • Seats and upper side of cockpit coaming covered in caulked, solid teak.
  • Cupped Helmsman's seat with Najad logo in teak intarsia behind the wheel.
  • Removable teak duckboards.
  • Upgraded steering pedestal with stainless steel protection bar for the compass which also supports the varnished teak cockpit table and teak glass holder. There is a lamp on the pedestal to illuminate the cockpit table.
  • Two flush mounted winch handle pockets in the coamings port and starboard. The starboard one also contains the engine control panel.
  • Integrated grab rails are built on to the teak navigation table in the cockpit.
  • The sprayhood is fitted in a groove to the top edge of the windscreen so the joint becomes splash proof.
  • Cockpit locker under the starboard seat for stowage of cockpit table, washboards and fire extinguisher.
  • Below/behind the cockpit locker there is space for the fuel tank.

  • Hot and cold   pressurised water with single lever tap. The head of the tap may be lifted out for use as a shower.
  • Below the sole, designed as a shower tub, a shower sump drains to the sea with an electrical pump. New drain pump in 2022.
  • There are cupboards together with a ventilated and heated wet locker, with emergency tiller storage.
  • Large mirror, internal lighting and an opening porthole.

Cabins

Aft Cabin

  • A passageway on the port side at the galley leads to the aft cabin.
  • There is a double berth on the starboard side with a total length of approx. 2.10m and a small settee on the port side, length approx. 2.05m.
  • There is ample cupboard space and a hanging wardrobe.
  • The berth bottoms are unvarnished and ventilated with holes to avoid condensation
  • There are three portholes, two of which open and a skylight which can also be used as an emergency exit.
