Description

This Moody 31 is a desirable twin keel version, ideal for coastal cruising where taking the ground or exploring shallower waters is required. 'Valhalla' is presented in very good condition for her age, has been well maintained, and has a very good inventory including diesel heating, fridge, hot water, Darglow feathering propeller, self-tailing sheet winches, bathing platform, and a new B&G chartplotter with AIS in 2021. Early viewing is highly recommended as we expect demand to be very high!

Accommodation

The Moody 31 MkI accommodation offers up to six berths in three cabins with two double berths and approx. 6' 2" max. headroom.

FORECABIN   -   V berth forward with infill to convert to a double berth, good storage, and opening hatch to foredeck.
SALOON   -   Laid out with two settee berths (starboard has a trotter box) either side of a central table with drop leaves, useful and easily accessed storage is provided by various lockers and shelves.
GALLEY   -   Aft to starboard and equipped with a gimballed Plastimo Neptune 2000 2-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, top-loading fridge (new refrigeration unit 2021), stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water supply, manual backup cold freshwater pump, and storage.
CHART TABLE   -   Outboard facing chart table with swiveling seat, navigation equipment, chart storage, and an open storage locker.
AFT CABIN   -   Fitted with a double berth (an infill can be removed to separate the berth), hanging locker, cupboard, shelves, and three portlights.
HEADS   -   Separate heads compartment aft to port with Jabsco marine toilet, shower, washbasin, and wet hanging locker.  
GENERAL EQUIPMENT   -   Teak cabinetry with teak and holly soleboards, blue cotton upholstery and complimenting curtains throughout. Pressurised hot and cold water supply via a calorifier. Eberspacher diesel-fired warm air heating system. Sony CD/radio stereo system with saloon and cockpit speakers.

Bermudan rigged sloop with deck-stepped mast. Silver anodised aluminium mast and boom. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2016). Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with stack-pack. Hood Seafurl headsail furling system. Lines led aft to clutches. 2 x Lewmar 28 self-tailing sheet winches. Lewmar 7 halyard winch at companionway. Lewmar 6 and 7 mast mounted halyard winches. 2 x Winch handles.

Mechanical Systems

Located at companionway, Volvo Penta 2003 28hp three-cylinder inboard diesel engine. Seawater cooled. Plastic 90L fuel tank. Shaft drive with rope cutter to a Darglow Featherstream feathering three-bladed propeller.

The engine has been regularly maintained, with a full service in 2024, which included drawing the shaft to fit new cutless bearing and Deep Sea seal, replacing the engine mounts and servicing the propeller.

Electrical Systems

2 x 12v batteries (new engine battery 2021) charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring mains and CTEK automatic battery charger. Sterling Advanced Digital 4 step battery to battery charging and monitoring system. Full interior lighting. Shorepower lead.

White GRP hull, superstructure and decks with grey moulded non-slip surfaces. Cast iron twin keels (bolts checked and keels re-bedded 2005). Tiller steering with Spinlock extension to skeg hung rudder. Self-draining aft cockpit. Seacocks serviced in 2024.
