J/120s 's are a well known entity and greatly admired for their build quality, brilliant deck layout designed and executed by a design team of highly experienced sailors, quality and oversized sail handling gear such as winches, and a safe, clean, and highly functional interior. The transom is a "scooped out" design which accommodates an exceptionally accessible swim ladder and easy boarding from an inflatable. The adjustable backstay and dynamically adjustable jib/genoa leads work together to depower the entire rig entirely from the cockpit, helping to avoid reefing in many cases.
