The Custom IMOCA 60 "Ocean Calling," designed by Owen Clarke, is currently for sale in Lorient, France, and is race-ready for the 2024 Vendée Globe. Built in 2007 with an overall length of 18.28 meters and a beam of 5.55 meters, this boat underwent a comprehensive refit in 2023. Enhancements include a redesigned daggerboard configuration, updated deck plan, new running and standing rigging, a fresh set of North sails, conversion to the 2016-gauge ballast, installation of two Madintec lines, updated computer systems, and a lowered cockpit for improved headroom and skipper protection. A new keel is planned for installation in 2024, combining stainless steel foil, bulb, and precise fairing work. Additionally, the boat is equipped with advanced navigation technology, radar, and VHF for communication.
Race prepped and ready to compete in the 2024 edition of the Vendée Globe we are pleased to bring our much-loved Owen Clarke designed IMOCA 60 ‘Ocean Calling’ to market. With a complete refit in 2023 with new daggerboard configuration, deck plan revision, new running and standing rigging, new set of North sails, conversion to 2016-gauge ballast, installation of 2 new Madintec lines, new computer systems (2 PCs) and the lowering of the cockpit 30 cm to achieve headroom under the sprayhood and greater skipper protection. And in 2024 a new keel (stainless steel foil at AMPM, bulb at Irons Brothers, fairing at C3Technologie).
