Marketing Description

Very well presented and maintained Hunter Channel 31. This is the tho more popular bilge keeled version which allows the shallower and remoter parts of our wonderfully varied UK coastline to be explored. Purchased initially as a kit in 2002, her initial owner returned the vessel to Select Yachts who finished her professionally in 2007. She has benefitted from owners who believed in preventative maintenance and upgrades to her equipment. Her current custodians have replaced the standing rigging in 2022, running rigging in 2024, roller furling gear in 2022 and introduced a new fully battened mainsail in 2024. In excellent shape mechanically engine serviced ready for the 23025 season as well as new engine mounts, seacock and strainer, dripless shaft seal and new rope cutter.
below decks is warm and welcoming with teak and holly flooring, generous cabins, well upholstered berths and Webasto diesel fired heating to extend the season. Comes complete with a copper coated hull and full cockpit enclosure.


Mechanical

Vessel powered by a reliable and economical Yanmar 2GM20F. This 2-cylinder, 18hp workhorse is situated beneath the companionway steps allowing easy access to the front and rear for daily checks and servicing. Engine start panel mounted on the inside of the companionway. Single lever engine control mounted in cockpit. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed Darglow Featherstream feathering propeller. New Volvo Penta dripless seal in 2022. This is the 2GM20F which is fitted with a heat exchanger and provides hot water to the calorifier. Well maintained by current owners and the engine is serviced ready for the 20-25 season. Numerous spares including belts, filters and impellers.

Electrical

'Dawn Sky' has 12/240V systems on board. Bank of 2x Varta 90Ah batteries providing engine start and domestic power. The batteries were replaced in 2021 and fitted with a rotary style selector switch.
The batteries are recharged in a number of ways which allows the boat to be used in anchorages, swinging moorings and unserviced pontoons. As well as being recharged by the traditional engine alternator or shore power options there are 2 x 40 watt solar panels and a Rutland 914i wind generator. These are regulated through a HRDi regulator. Shore power cable.


Rigging

Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped, single spreader aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2022 along with the forestay and Profurl 202.1 roller furling system. Self tacking jib track mounted forward of mast with car bearings replaced in 2023. Additional genoa sheet tracks and cars mounted port and starboard of coachroof leaves side decks uncluttered and allows easy access forward. All lines are led aft to helm via a series of Lewmar turning blocks, deck organisers and jammers. Coachroof mounted Lewmar 30 self tailing winches mounted either side of companionway. Running rigging renewed in 2024 including Dyneema main halyard. Vessel rigged for spinnaker/cruising chute including associated rigging, winch and Forespar twist'n'lock whisker pole. Backstay adjustor. Mainsail mounted in smart navy lazy jack bag on boom.

Accommodation

Below decks is warm, welcoming and spacious with generous berths and storage options. Full standing headroom all the way to the bow cabin. The interior of the vessel was professionally fitted out by Select Yachts of Cornwall in 2007. The flooring is teak & holly laminate, the interior cabinet woodwork a combination of solid and veneered cherry. The upholstery is an attractive blue/grey. The interior is light and airy thanks to the numerous deck hatches and port lights. 12V LED deck lights and a red chart reading/night vision light above chart table. Vessel kept warm and dry by a Webasto diesel fired, blown hot air system with outlets in cabins and saloon.

The main cabin is accessessed via the companionway. 4-steps down and you are in the main saloon. Immediately aft on the port side is the spacious heads. Jabsco marine toilet with 'Twist n Lock' handle. The pump and all sanitary hose was replaced in 2023. Moulded sink unit with hot and cold pressurised water with pull out shower head. Mirrored storage/vanity units and wet locker to rear. Shower sump tray with teak grate and sump pump. Shower pump replaced in 2023.

Returning to the main saloon and continuing on the port side you will find the chart table/navigation area this is a linear space and has the added bonus of a tilt in and out chart seat. This makes a great space saving and keeps the space at the companionway steps clear. Chart table with chart storage, 12V switch panel, chart reading light and navigation aids.

Moving forward you will find the main saloon with settee/berths either side of a triangular shaped saloon table with drop leaves and very handy storage drawers at the leading end. There are storage areas beneath the berths and deep loose storage behind the back rests.
In the bow is the V-berthed cabin which is equally suited to either a double or two individuals. There is a large hanging locker and additional storage beneath the berth itself. Opening deck hatch for light and ventilation. 12V reading and deck head light.

Returning to the main saloon and moving aft down the starboard side there is the L-shaped galley with the Hunter signature curved work space with circular stainless steel sink and hot and cold pressurised water. There is storage below and hull mounted cupboards for provisions and crockery. Gas fuelled Nelson oven with 2-burner hob and separate grill. Top loading fridge with drain and refrigeration plate.

Aft of the galley is the large aft cabin with huge double berth in which you sleep fore &n aft or athwartships. 12V reading lights, hull port to rear and a hanging locker.

GRP constructed yacht with twin bilge keels. White high gloss topsides with navy coveline and boot top striping. Hull to deck join finished in D-fender rubbing strake. Solid GRP wide side decks finished in moulded non slip. Self bailing anchor locker is bow with vertical mounted manual windlass. Stainless steel stem head fitting with roller. Stainless steel bow and stern rains conjoined with stainless steel stanchions and double set of guard wirers. Large self bailing cockpit with tiller steering. Counter hung semi balanced rudder. Large cockpit locker on port side. Self draining and vented gas locker with new gas hoses in 2023.
Cockpit locker tops and cockpit sole finished in simulated teak.
