History of Four Winns

Four Winns traces its origins back to 1962 when it was founded by the Winn family in Cadillac, Michigan. Initially named Safe-T-Mate Boat Company, the company quickly earned a reputation for producing high-quality, innovative boats. In 1975, it rebranded to Four Winns, signifying the four Winn family members involved in the business. The late 20th century saw the company grow substantially, as it introduced a range of popular bowrider and cruiser models that captured the market's attention.Through various ownership changes over the decades, Four Winns continued to evolve and expand its product line, consistently maintaining a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. In 1987, it was acquired by Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), which further bolstered its resources and market reach. After OMC's bankruptcy in 2000, the company was acquired by Genmar Holdings, and eventually by Platinum Equity when Genmar also filed for bankruptcy. Today, Four Winns is part of the Bénéteau Group, a global leader in boat manufacturing. The company remains headquartered in Cadillac, Michigan, where it continues to design and build a variety of pleasure boats, including bowriders, deck boats, and cruisers. Four Winns' legacy of innovation and quality persists, making it a respected and enduring name in the boating industry.
