The boat was surveyed in December 2023, and found to be in “good condition for a boat of its age” but was also found to be exhibiting the third stage of the osmotic process. At this stage no softening or delamination of the GRP was detected and immediate treatment of the osmosis is not included in the surveyor’s recommendations, but it is likely that an owner will want to treat the osmosis in the medium to longer term, which could be done as a DIY job by the owner, or the boat could taken to a professional facility.
This is being duly disclosed in the interest of transparency. There is a strong possibility that many other Fishers on the market of similar age and price that have not had an osmosis treatment will be exhibiting similar levels of osmosis which is not disclosed in the descriptions.
The asking price of the boat has been reduced significantly to contribute towards a future osmosis treatment, which could subsequently add to the boat’s value.
