This Dufour 38 Classic has had only two owners from new. She was last surveyed in 2023 and all recommendations carried out. Three double cabins outside the saloon layout, two heads compartments, central heating all in a comfortable interior. She has an excellent suit of navigation equipment. The 40hp engine has a new saildrive seal. A large boat for a reasonable investment.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to seven berths in three double sleeping cabins plus one berth in the saloon.

FORECABIN: Considered by many to be the owners cabin and featuring a large double berth. Beneath berth stowage, hanging locker, shelves and a large opening hatch to foredeck. En-suite heads compartment with a marine toilet, basin and shower to starboard.

SALOON: A large U-shaped settee to starboard (can convert to a berth) with a separate central bench seat offers comfortable seating for 6-8 around a rectangular dining table. Plenty of stowage space is provided beneath seating and by lockers and shelves.

GALLEY: Linear galley to port equipped with an ENO 2-burner gas cooker with oven, twin stainless steel sinks, large top loading fridge, back up foot pump water supply, Corian worktops, sink covers and excellent storage in various lockers and drawers. 

CHART TABLE: Generous forward facing chart table with half Admiralty chart storage, navigators seat and ample storage including a wet hanging locker. Electrical distribution panel, navigation equipment, water and fuel gauges, voltmeter and controls shore power are all at hand. Kenwood CD/radio stereo system. 

HEADS: Aft to port and fitted with separate sit down shower area, marine toilet, wash basin and storage.

AFT CABINS: Two aft cabins with double berths, hanging lockers, shelving and opening portlights.

Mahogany interior. Teak and holly effect, non scratch sole boards compliment the blue cloth upholstered saloon and cream patterned cotton sleeping cabin upholstery. Curtains throughout. Pressurised hot and cold water supply via a 28 litre calorifier with immersion coil. Two water tanks of 160 litres each. Eberspacher diesel fired central heating system with saloon radiator. Finlux TV with masthead antenna. Cabin lights LED. 

Spars & Sails

Masthead rigged sloop with double spreaders. Silver anodised aluminium mast and boom by Z-Spars. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2017) with Seasure adjustable backstay tensioner. Terylene running rigging. Most lines led aft to cockpit. Slab reefing to mainsail with lazyjacks and stackpack. Facnor headsail furling system. Lewmar adjustable genoa cars.. 2 x Lewmar 44 self tailing sheet winches. 2 x Lewmar 30 self tailing halyard winches. Lewmar 16  winch on mast.  Telescopic spinnaker pole with up mast stowage.

Located abaft the companionway in vented and soundproofed compartment with excellent access. 1998, Volvo Penta MD 2040 3-cylinder 40hp marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls. 120S saildrive (new diaphragm in July 2024) with Ambassador rope cutter to folding 2-bladed propeller. 160 litres fuel capacity giving approximately 450 mile range at cruising speed of some 7 knots. Engine hours unknown.

Four coachroof opening ports and four deck hatches. Alloy toe rails.
