About this Furia 332

English

The Furia 332 is an attractive and well finished craft that is a genuine (and all too hard to find) cruiser racer. Designed by the Michel Joubert & Bernard Nivelt team, legendary for his Half Tonner designs, the Furia 332's hull is based on one of Joubert/Nivelts's most successful craft in that class, and similar to the Gibsea 106.

The Furia 332 is not just about sailing performance. She is an ideal family boat with good accommodation and headroom (the current owner is well over 6' and this was one of the major factors that made him choose her) with sleeping accommodation for up to seven people. The double berth conversion in the saloon is ingenious; it is so simple to use, and I do not understand why more manufacturers haven't copied it.

This Furia 332 had her standing rigging replaced in 2021, and generous equipment levels include a 2021 genoa, B&G Vulcan 9 touchscreen plotter, AIS, Tacktick instruments, Simrad TP32 tiller pilot and much more.

Broker's Comments

We bought Pampero in June 2011 in Lymington. We were looking for a racer which we could cruise, such as a Contessa, but as soon as we saw her, we both knew it was the boat for us.

We spent the summer preparing her for relaunch, including having the hull re-epoxied as a protection measure as she had been out of the water for some months. We worked on the running rigging, instruments and basic equipment which needed upgrading. Then at last we launched and sailed her back to Poole. We motored out into the Solent, raised the sails, and were absolutely delighted at how she performed in a Force 3. She was the most responsive boat I had sailed, and certainly faster than we were expecting.

Some of the systems had been neglected over the years before we bought her. The running rigging needed a redesign and the original B&G instruments were only partly functioning. In the end I scrapped all the electronics, and invested in the Tackticks system, now Raymarine. I added a B&G Vulcan touchscreen plotter, which is a delight to use.

We have raced Pampero in Poole Harbour for over 10 years, in the ‘White Sails Only’ class (friendly racing) using the VPRS handicap system, although previous owners had the boat IRC rated. We have managed to win some silverware in that time, and against some stiff competition. We have cruised a lot over the years, mainly in the Solent area and up to Chichester Harbour. The boat is very easy to manoeuvre, and has virtually no side-kick when going astern. We normally take a reef in the main in Force 4 and above. The addition of a folding teak table was a game-changer. The cockpit is already very spacious, and having a beautiful table accommodating up to four makes cockpit living an absolute joy.
