Owner's Comments

In 2003 during a used boat show in Lymington, my wife and I were looking for a cruising boat to go to the Mediterranean and enjoy our retirement?  We looked at several boats which we hoped fitted the bill, thinking that a standard European built cruiser would tick most of the boxes. We looked at a Starlight but dismissed it because of the price and I wasn’t familiar with the Stephen Jones designed Starlight. My wife who was not a sailor, piped up and said that the Starlight felt right. Consequently I did some research and we ended up purchasing Hexagon after winning a bidding war!

There has not been a minute when I regretted the purchase. We sailed her in the Channel for 3/4 years then took her to the Med. It was a steep learning curve - no tides, stern too mooring and catabatic winds. We ended up in Greece for 9+ years.

We lived aboard all summer and visited numerous islands in the Ionian and beyond. The full length bimini was essential for the summer sun, and the complete full-length cover protected her when she was ashore in the winter.

20 years have gone by and our extended cruising days are over. It is now time to tend the garden and look after one another.

I am missing Hexagon already!
