This Baltic 40 was built in 1983. The 40 is the Mk.II version of the Baltic 39 with improvements. "Halo" has been well cared for by her knowledgeable owner. Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Engine - Located under companionway with excellent access. Yanmar 3HM35F marine diesel engine. Three cylinders. Fresh water cooled. Shaft drive to three blade propeller. Single lever engine control. Stainless steel fuel tank with 115 litre capacity.

Batteries: Four 12V batteries in two banks (3 x domestic (2022), engine start (2022). Charging via engine alternator, shore power battery charger and solar panels. 240V shore power system with sockets throughout interior.

Construction

The Baltic 40 is based on the Baltic 39 hull with a modified interior. Built by Baltic Yachts in 1983. White spray painted grp hull with style stripes. 2024 eroding antifoul. White grp coachroof with painted non skid decks. Lead fin keel. Wheel steering to spade rudder. Stainless steel safety rails and stanchions. Step thru bow rail. Self draining anchor well and cockpit. Teak to cockpit sole. Alloy toe rails. Stainless steel and teak stern platforms either side of boarding ladder.

Boat last surveyed in 2022. She has been in her current ownership for 17 years.

Accommodation - Six berths in three sleeping cabins outside the saloon. V berth forward cabin with infill. Masses of stowage. Heads compartment to port with Jabsco manual marine toilet (120 litre holding tank), moulded basin and shower. 30l calorifier and pressurised hot and cold fresh water system heated via engine and 240V immersion heater. 180l (approx.) fresh water capacity across three tanks. Saloon has U shaped dinette to port with settee berth to starboard all with smart blue fabric upholstery and double folding leaf table between. Forward facing chart table to starboard with full stowage and electrical systems. L shaped galley opposite and to port. This has an ENO 3 burner gas cooker with grill and oven, stainless steel top loading fridge with very efficient keel cooler, cool box, plenty of stowage and stainless steel sink. Emergency hand pump for fresh water. Double aft cabins port and starboard with large Bosuns locker room between (can be converted to a second heads compartment). Blue curtains throughout. Teak and Holly saloon sole.

Sails & Rigging:

Masthead Bermudan sloop rig. Keel stepped mast. Black anodised aluminium mast (twin spreaders) and boom. Stainless steel Dyform standing rigging (age unknown). Removable inner forestay. Terylene running rigging, mostly led aft to the cockpit. Four Lewmar self tailing winches. Two Lewmar spinnaker sheet winches. Headsail furling system. Slab reefing to mainsail. Spinnaker pole with deck stowage, black alloy.
