The Alden 44.6 Ketch, currently for sale through De Valk Corfu, is located in Greece. This classic sailing yacht, with an overall length of 13.59 metres and a beam of 4.00 metres, was manufactured in 1984. Designed by the renowned American John Alden under the code name RENA CLASS 0744N, it was constructed in Cape Town using Iroko wood for the hull and deck, and Teak for the interior. The plans were brought from Alden Co. through the Peabody Museum in Massachusetts by British captain N. Halliwell. He believed the yacht ideally suited for transatlantic passages, as evidenced by his impressive 60,000 nautical mile journey over five years from South Africa to the USA, UK, and back to Africa.
