This Aquastar 38 was built in 1981 and had a replacement engine in 2002. A 2021 refit modernised the boat and aimed for minimal upkeep by replacing all timber elements with durable, low-maintenance materials like Nidaplast and GRP. These materials were used for key components such as decks, seating, the engine box, and companionway ladders.
Key updates in the refit include:
- Hull repainting for a refreshed look and potentially enhanced protection.
- Engine overhaul, ensuring the vessel runs smoothly with a more reliable powertrain.
- New wiring and electrics, which include upgrades to the electrical system for efficiency and safety.
- New windows, improving aesthetics and providing better durability.
- Additional flotation buoyancy added under the main deck for enhanced safety.
- Engine box access panels for quick and easy engine maintenance.
- Deck wash pump for cleaning convenience.
- Easily accessible skin fittings for better maintenance of the vessel's hull.
The overall refit not only brought the boat up to modern standards but also means she requires minimal ongoing maintenance, allowing for a more efficient and user-friendly experience. The engine overhaul ensures the longevity of the vessel while improving both performance and ease of use.
