Galley and navigation station
The galley has been rebuilt with better quality working surfaces, a sink with an SS drainer and pumped hot & cold water. The cool box has been converted to a fridge. (Compressor mounted on forward bulkhead of cockpit locker). A new gimballed Plastimo cooker was fitted in 2004 with two burners, grill and oven. There is a twin 13 amp outlet on the galley bulkhead for use with a toaster, kettle or fan heater. Crockery is stored in a keyhole cupboard above the sink. Gas is stored in a 2-bottle locker in the cockpit.
A navigator’s seat and chart table is opposite the galley, with ample chart and instrument storage beneath. A stack of three storage drawers supports the chart table and an Icom VHF radio, Navtex display and Standard Horizon 5” chart plotter are mounted on the surrounding bulkheads.
Engine
The original Bukh engine has been replaced with a fresh-water cooled Volvo Penta MD2030, delivering 28 shaft horse power, in 2016 along with a new PRM80 gear box, shaft gland seal and matching propeller. There is a “Stripper” rope cutter fitted. An instrument panel is mounted in the cockpit displaying revs, temperature and oil pressure.
The diesel and fresh water tanks behind the engine have been replaced with new stainless-steel versions.
There is a calorifier vessel which provides hot water both from engine heating and a 240v immersion heater.
Electrics
240v power is connected to a distribution box with overcurrent trips and RCD protection then out to the calorifier, the Waeco unit and the 13amp outlet.
12v power is provided either from the 60 amp engine alternator or a Waeco 30 amp shore power/charging unit. There are 2x 100AH domestic batteries and 1 engine start battery, with the usual rotary selection switch. Domestic 12v power can be isolated separately by its own rotary switch. There are two gauges mounted below the bridge deck, one allows domestic or engine battery voltage to be checked, the other displays current flow in or out.
All internal lights are LED or fluorescent. Bow, stern and masthead navigation lights fitted.
