The POINTER 30 is the latest design to be produced by the Jachtwerf Heeg BV. Just unveiled at the Dusseldorf Boatshow this elegant jacht is a delight on the eye and even better to sail.
Another POINTER with uncompromising lines geared towards sailing pleasure, the latest design marks a clear contrast to the trend for high freeboarded slabs of GRP. This innovative fast cruiser fits neatly into the POINTER series, following a line of sleek, elegant yachts. As a result the POINTER 30 offers the helmsman an excellent view over the coachroof and it’s low centre of gravity creates a stiff yacht with outstanding performance under sail. Whether steering with a tiller or the optional tilting wheel we found the POINTER 30’s helm light and well balanced. The sail plan is sporty and easy to control from the cockpit, with high quality winches and deck equipment. The spacious cockpit’s clever layout permits both single-handed sailing and trips with a larger crew of up to 8.
Safety is baked into all POINTER designs and the 30 is no different. With bags of buoyancy and a high ballast ratio no wonder the POINTER 30 complies with CE category B (offshore) rating. We found the yacht to be impecably behaved, finger tip steering, even in the strongest of gusts. As standard the POINTER 30 is equipped with a safe closed transom which converts to a swimming or recovery platform. Whether choosing the standard shallow draft 1.25m or optional 1.75 m keel the POINTER 30 boasts a high ballast ratio, whatever keel options suit your sailing area.
The cabin boasts a stylish interior with an innovative bar with rotating armchairs for optimal comfort and floor space. The well-thought-out design and efficient layout make this a versatile cabin cruiser. In the bow the POINTER 30 has a separate double cabin with v-berth offering decent stretching room (2.1m). Cleverly positioned adjoining the forward cabin sits the heads compartment with the galley opposite. Two good sized quarter berths under the cockpit benches complete the cabin layout. Despite its performance orientated design the POINTER 30 can be fitted with a wide range of comfort features below deck
