FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
The Ocean Explorer 60 is built to category CE Ocean A and MGN280-2 with DNV-GL appointed as notified body. The Ocean Explorer 60 is built to the highest standards offering a comfortable yet performance oriented catamaran.
Her accommodation layout incorporates 1 crew + 4 guest cabins, offering true premium sailing experience for all aboard. The materials and equipment offered are carefully chosen in order to match the high set of expectations. Her carbon fibre mast is supplied by Lorima who are globally recognised in the multihull market and the professional racing arenas.
In order to meet requirements for occasional shorthanded sailing and effortless sail handling, both the jib and the storm jib are on electrical furlers. A retractable hydraulic Max Power bow thruster is installed for ensuring smooth manoeuvring in narrow harbour areas. Retractable daggerboards and rudders also allow her draft to be reduced to just 0.90m for beaching or 1.3m when in navigation with the rudder blades down.
The galley is well equipped. Sufficient freezer and fridge capacity is installed for covering long passages and for ensuring proper dining at times when the numbers of guests aboard are high.
Her chosen build category allows for commercial charter operations should her owner decide.
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
In order to be called a true luxury performance offshore cruising catamaran, the width of the OE60’s hull has been carefully balanced for performance and splendid liveaboard comfort. Displacement, hull shape, and sail power are the key design features of an OE. The advanced hydrodynamic shape of the hull, designed by world-renowned naval architect Germán Frers, utilizes the optimal length to beam ratio to minimize the wetted surface and deliver true performance. Instead of opting for fixed keels, a daggerboard configuration was chosen based on the advantages of providing lift, and lateral resistance versus drag. This design is also more efficient by providing outstanding upwind performance with the daggerboards down, and best performance with daggerboards up in a reaching or running sailing angle. Another advantage with the daggerboards up is that the draught is less than 80 cm, allowing you to sail and anchor in shallow waters unreachable to most.
You can’t talk high-performance sailing without talking about construction. Each yacht utilizes superior design, advanced engineering, and only the finest composite materials critical for the optimum strength to weight ratio. In keeping with the highest traditions of Finnish yacht building, each Ocean Explorer is handcrafted by an expert team of generational craftspeople.
Essential to any luxury yacht is the comfort, flow, utilization of space, and natural light of the interior design. With 360-degree vistas, superb ergonomics, and relaxing spaces, each interior is beautifully appointed, and custom finished to each owners’ personal tastes.

PRESS REVIEW:
“…Frers may be pretty well known for drawing elegant monohulls. What happens when he does a multihull?... Ocean Explorer are based right next door to Swan and Baltic in Jackobstaad… This Ocean Explorer is as close as you can get to a Swan in a catamaran; it’s pretty special…”
“…Immediately noticeable from a monosailer point of view is how nice it will be to stand right here in the quarters with full vision for sailing… You can see through to the opposite bow from the hull thanks to the vision straight through that coachroof with the amount of glass in there… A very beamy design, but also elegant and the freeboard is relatively low. It’s a Frers so it’s a sailor’s boat!.. I’m told by the skipper that it is very easy for two people to manage this boat for long distance sailing…”
“…This one is a charter layout and is laid out accordingly with a five cabin layout. Just look at how beautifully it has been finished and the wow effect of her light open interior. It really is to coin an overused phrase, panoramic vision when you sit down in the saloon… The large galley is a very nice place to stand and work at. The nav station in the alcove besides the mast has excellent forward vision. The teak decks continue inside and there is a proper watertight door to the forward cockpit which is for the halyards and a nice seat for maintaining watch. It’a a cracking boat. A real sailor’s catamaran!...A very nice clean Lorimar rig, spreaderless and unusually for a catamaran of this size, a boom vang...”
“…It really is Swan-type finish quality throughout the boat… A very calming boat to be aboard… I think it’s all the natural light.. I could certainly get used to this…”
