Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998. 

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Hull built of glass fibre reinforced polyester by hand laying-up method, using alternate layers of mat and roving. Stiffeners are laid up over foam cores and reinforced with unidirectional glass.
  • White hull with dark blue stripe.
  • Structural bulkheads are of marine grade waterproof plywood laminated to hull and deck. Engine beds are of GRP with steel inserts. Special care is taken to assure rigid foundation and proper adhesion to hull.
  • The mast is stepped through the deck onto a metal mast step with movable shoe for mast rake adjustment. Tie rods at main mast. Laminated reinforcements on the main bulkhead for the stainless-steel chain plates.
  • Deck is made in foam-cored GRP sandwich construction. Single laminate with aluminium back-up plates under deck fittings.
  • Teak deck and cockpit.
  • Teak hatch frames and handrails, sheet, and halyard cleats. Teak laid decking.
  • Anodized aluminium toe rail with one pair of hawse holes amidships and drain holes where necessary.
  • Pulpit, pushpit and lifeline stanchions of stainless-steel, with bases bolted through deck.
  • Stem head fitting of stainless-steel with double chain roller and headsail tack attachment.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Ballast keel is lead casting with antimony. Lightening holes in keel.
  • Cast-in keel bolts are of high-tensile stainless steel.
  • Spade rudder of foam filled GRP with stainless-steel stock, supported by two roller bearings.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • Perkins Sabre M130C - 127HP diesel engine, 1998.
  • ZF gearbox – new in 2017.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Engine hours – approx. 7,200 hours in October 2024.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Three bladed Max-Prop propeller.
  • Cable steering gear.
  • Aluminium quadrant bolted to rudder stock.
  • 44” (1.12m) destroyer type wheel on pedestal with roller bearings and friction brake.
  • Emergency tiller of aluminium alloy with spanner for rudder stock access plate attached.
  • Steering pedestal with instruments for engine, a compass, light switches, chart plotter and VHF.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • 12v, 24v and 220v.
  • 2 x 12V outlets at navigation station.

 

Battery Banks:

  • 2 x 24V service battery banks, under the floor in starboard cabin and port cabin – 2020.
  • Separate 24V battery bank for main engine – 2020.
  • Separate 12V battery bank for generator and electronics – 2020.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Mastervolt inverter/charger.

 

Alternators:

  • Engine driven alternators: 1x 24V/100 amp for service batteries, 1 x 24V/100 amp for engine batteries.

 

Generator:

  • Westerbeke 5,7kW BTD - 50Hz generator, 1998.
  • Generator hours: approx. 2,100 @ October 2024.

 

Shore Power:

  • Shore power 220/110V, 220V outlets 15A/25A.
  • Separate 50A shore power inlet for 220V air conditioning.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Isotemp water heater 40 litres, engine or 220Volt.
  • Hot and cold pressure water with back-up foot pumps in galley and all heads.

 

Watermaker:

  • Selmar Synthesi watermaker 220 litres per minute. Installed 2012. Not in use since 2017.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Electric pumps for bilges and shower sump tanks (plus manual).
  • High-capacity engine driven pump for main bilge.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • 1,050 litres in 4 x tanks with gauges.

 

Fresh Water:

  • 750 litres in 4 x tanks with gauges.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

  • Holding tanks with level control and electric pumps to sea or deck.

Navigation Equipment

  • Simrad NSS evo 3S dual chart plotter with echo, & radar overlay, on pedestal in cockpit – new 2023.
  • Simrad autopilot AP 48 – new 2023.
  • B&G Hydra instrumentation with multi-function display at the chart table and analogue instruments for wind speed, wind angle, boat speed and depth over companionway in the cockpit.
  • B&G V100 dual system (one at helm and one at cockpit).
  • Sailor Thrane & Thrane Inmarsat marine Sat phone.
  • Furuno SSB FS-4001 antenna coupler, insulated backstay, grounding cage.
  • Simrad radar antenna.
  • Jotron high performance radar reflector, Tron Cyclops 3.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

  • Iceberg refrigerator 150 litres.
  • Freezer 230 litres.
  • Vegetable locker 150 litres.
  • All 220v, via shore power or generator, plus standard engine driven unit.
  • Temperature gauges for fridge and freezer.
  • Broadwater marine stove with four burners and oven.
  • Galley equipment and utensils, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc.

 

Heads/Showers:

  • Ecovac vacuum freshwater flushing toilets in all heads.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

  • Webasto water born heater system with radiators in saloon and all cabins. Radiators with fan for instant heating in aft cabin, saloon, and all heads.
  • Dometic air conditioning system, in saloon with reverse cycle heating – new October 2024.
  • Marine Air, air conditioning system to the aft cabin.
  • Ventilation fans for all heads and galley.

 

Entertainment:

  • Stereo Fusion with speakers in saloon, aft cabin, and cockpit with changeover switches.

 

Lighting:

  • Floodlight in mast and antenna mast at aft deck.
  • Cockpit light under boom over cockpit.
  • Navigation and deck lights with control on steering pedestal in cockpit.

Accommodation

Summary of Accommodation:

  • 8 berths in 4 cabins plus 1 berth in the fo´c´sle crew cabin.
  • All joinery work is done in accordance with the best yacht practice, using first-grade materials. Teak with hand rubbed satin finish is used for all visible woodwork.
  • Floorboards with laid teak veneer and providing access to the bilge.
  • Teak grating in fo´c´sle and heads.
  • Topsides where visible lined with teak battens.
  • Overhead lined with removable panelling.
  • Wooden companionway ladder.
