The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.

Owners Comments

This is hull number 10 of 45 built. The three-cabin deep keel version of the model and features a higher hp engine, generous fuel storage and excessive specification rig replace in 2023. New teak deck in excellent condition protected by winter cover.

The sale includes an extensive up to date operating manual specific to this yacht of over 70 pages including diagrams of safety equipment, through-hull fittings, sanitation, water systems and many other components. This will save time and aid the buyer in becoming familiar with the vessel and its operation.

Purchased new by a Swiss couple. The documents relating to the original purchase and photographs during construction are available and included in the sale. She was first registered in Basel, Switzerland on 7 February 2000. The husband passed away not long after the purchase, after this the wife and their son used to visit the boat but didn’t sail her much.

In 2010 she was purchased by a British couple who transferred to British flag registered in London. They covered a lot of miles in the boat taking her across the Atlantic and back twice. They wrote a book, “The Age of Sail” about their experiences.

At the end of the summer 2018, the boat was out of the water in Leros, Greece. The current owner purchased the boat in January 2019; apart from the day of the survey, the boat remained out of the water until launch in June 2019. In early 2019, layers of old anti foul were removed and coppercoat applied. A new stainless steel waste-water tank was installed. The boat transferred to Australian flag. During the summer of 2019, the boat travelled 1,191 miles in the south east of the Aegean in the Greek islands and the Turkish coast.

She came out of the water in Marmaris in Oct/Nov 2019. The following works were completed early in 2020: new teak deck, major mechanical services and solar. At the start of COVID, a cover was custom-made to protect it. The boat remained out of the water from November 2019 to June 2023. When the boat was readied for the 2023 season, all the batteries were replaced as were the lazy jacks. The dinghy had gone missing during COVID so a reconditioned dinghy was purchased. New upholstery and curtains were fitted below and most of the linen was replaced.

Declaration – Insurance Repair to Hull & Keel:

In July 2023 the boat struck a rock which caused damage to the keel and the hull. The repairs were completed in Marmaris, were covered by insurance and were well supervised by a marine surveyor; they necessitated the removal of the keel and the mast. At this time the fixed rigging was replaced. During the 2023 season the boat sailed 1,581 miles from Marmaris east to Alanya and then west along the Turkish coast, across the Aegean, through the Corinth Canal to Preveza where she came out of the water and remains there now.
