The very large cockpit has been designed to be versatile : plenty of free space for efficient crew maneuvers and all the assistance necessary for solo navigation ( electric winches as standard, lines brought to the helm under the gangways, self-steering system on request…) . The helm station has two wheels with two ultra-modern consoles B with all the electronics available to the helmsman. An opening platform at the transom allows easy access to the tender garage. Sparcraft racing mast, Harken winches and pulleys, pre-stretched Dyneema sheets, retractable carbon bowsprit as standard… The richness of the fittings, selected on the sole criteria of quality and efficiency , fits perfectly into the refined lines of the bridge. The Yanmar 110hp engine (with shaft line) was chosen to power the Centurion 57. Coming from the very latest generation of marine engines, the Yanmar 110hp is particularly quiet and generates little vibration. (The Volvo D3- 150hp @3000 RPM engine (common + rail 4 stroke, 5 cylinders) is optional).
Inside: calm, luxury, voluptuousness… If the waxed teak used on all Wauquiez since 1965 remains the dominant woodwork, other materials (leather, glass, stainless steel) give the Centurion 57 a strong and contemporary personality thanks to a patient craftsmanship. The large owner’s cabin located at the front of the boat has a desk, plenty of storage space and its own bathroom with separate shower.
The two double cabins at the stern offer an independent bathroom and allow guests to be received with all the comfort expected on board a large luxury sailboat . The galley extends down the companionway to port and starboard . Richly equipped, it is equipped with all the equipment necessary for long cruises as well as world tours and includes all the household appliances on board. The front peak can hold all the sails and lots of technical equipment. It can be converted into a skipper’s cabin with water point and WC (option).
