The Southerly 100 was introduced in 1983 as an updated version of the Southerly 95. They are a comfortable, versatile family sailing cruiser, fitted out to a high standard by Northshore. With a swing keel they can be safely dried out, opening up interesting harbours and anchorages that other boats cannot reach. This example benefits from a new mainsail in 2022, a bow thruster and has been in the same ownership for many years.
Accommodation
The accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins.
Twin offset berths in fore cabin with stowage above and below. Opening hatch to foredeck. Saloon with U shaped settee to port with table converting to a double berth. Storage above and below. Single settee berth opposite to starboard side with stowage above and below. Galley aft to port with Flavel Vanessa two burner cooker with oven and grill. Twin stainless steel sinks with H&C pressurised water supply. Cool box. Generous storage. Aft port quarter berth with stowage beneath. Interior helm position/navigation area to starboard with single lever engine control. Heads compartment aft to starboard with Jabsco sea toilet. Vanity unit with H&C water supply with pull-out shower. Steps leading up to cockpit with teak slatted seating with lockers beneath. Outside helm position with wheel steering. Full interior lighting. Teak and Holly style floor, teak and teak faced ply joinery and curtains.
Mechanical Systems
Located abaft the companionway Yanmar 3GM30F 27hp diesel engine. Electric start. Fresh water cooled via heat exchanger. Flex mounts. Shaft drive to fixed three bladed propeller. Single lever engine controls in cockpit and inside helm. Cruising speed 6 knots. Maximum speed 7 knots. Sleipner Side Power Bow thruster

Construction
Built in 1987 by Northshore Yacht Yards to a design by Dick Carter. Off white GRP hull with off white GRP, with non-slip to decks. Self draining cockpit with seating and lockers under. Self draining anchor well and gas lockers. Cast iron ballast plate, electric hydraulic lift keel. Wheel steering with skeg hung rudder. Hardwood rubbing strake.
