Finezza Veloce is hull number 20 out of a production fun of 77 vessels, designed by legendary yacht designer Rod Johnstone and constructed by Tillotson-Pearson Composites in Warren RI, USA, to ABS standards.

From 1997 through 2020 this boat was stored indoors at the renowned Lyman and Morse yacht yard in Camden, Maine. She was pampered by her original owner and his family for those 23 years by L&M, often considered to be one of the best yards in the US.

Recent Upgrades

Racing record

The original owners family sailed this boat in the Newport to Bermuda Race several times, finishing 3rd twice. They also did the Marblehead to Halifax NS race several times as well. Should be mentioned that in the 2024 Newport-Bermuda Race a J/42 finish 2nd in class. These boats are legendary, able to be either sailed or cruised safely and quickly ("a quick voyage is a safe voyage") in the most challenging blue water environment, all the way to local around the buoys events. 2022: This boat went to the Camden Classic Cup in Camden Maine and competed in a 6-boat one design regatta in a separate J/42 class. She won both races convincingly. Later that summer we took her to the Manchester Fall Series under ORRez and won the event overall. 2023: We won a number of evening PHRF races, placed in a number of charity events, and won another Manchester Fall Series defending our win the year before. 2024: After winning a number of PHRF evening races this year, Finezza Veloce finished a strong 2nd in a large charity event in a field of 20 boats in class. She went on to win the Ted Hood Regatta (ORRez), narrowly beating an IMX 40 in a tie breaker.In Mass Bay, and Marblehead in particular, the racing success achieved by Finezza Veloce has garnered a lot of attention over these past three years. A stunningly attractive boat, known for its seaworthiness, stability, build quality, and ease of sailing, this J/42 has consistently shown pace hereto never seen before, locally. Considering her easy win at the Camden Cup one-design event it could be argued that she's likely the fastest J/42 on the east coast at least.
