The Finnsailer 38 is a substantial and powerful Finnish motor sailer, featuring excellent build quality and accommodation for up to nine, in three separate cabins and saloon. This particular example is powered by a Perkins 85hp diesel engine. She has recently been fitted with a new refrigerator, new electronics and diesel fired warm air heating and would make an excellent passage maker for extended cruising or long stays aboard. This boat was in the same ownership for the first 40 years and they are rarely seen on the market here in the UK.
Accommodation
The accommodation offers up to nine berths in three separate cabins and saloon with good headroom throughout.
Steps leading down from cockpit to saloon area, chart table to port with swivel stool, galley opposite to starboard side comprising twin stainless steel sink and drainer, Vaillant water heater, large insulated cool box, three burner hob with oven, new refrigerator with ice box (2023) and lots of stowage. Large U shaped dinette with drop leaf table converting to a double berth with storage above and below, settee berth with storage below to port converting to twin bunks, hatch above. Companionway forward with heads compartment to starboard side comprising moulded sink, shower, marine toilet with cabinet above. Hanging locker opposite to port. Forward cabin with V berth, storage above and below and escape hatch to foredeck.
Midships cabin/companionway accessed via galley, single berth with storage above and below, portlight to cockpit. Aft master cabin with large single berth to port side and single to starboard with storage below. Stainless steel fold away sink to centre with companionway to cockpit above.
Joinery in teak and teak faced ply, fitted carpets, teak and holly cabin floor to galley. Cabin lighting. Diesel fired warm air heating.
Mechanical Systems
Located beneath the cockpit floor. Perkins 4.236 85hp diesel engine through Borg-Warner Velvet Drive gearbox. Shaft drive to three-bladed fixed pitch propeller. Fresh water cooled via heat exchanger. Electric start. Vetus bow thruster.
Alternator charging to 3 x 12 volt batteries (replaced 2023)

Built in 1976 by OY Fiskars AB of Finland. White GRP hull with blue cove line. White GRP superstructure with moulded non slip to decks. Wheel house with steering and additional steering in aft end of cockpit. Semi-long encapsulated keel. Teak coach roof grab rails. Self draining cockpit with cockpit locker to port side.
