GL Watson Gaff Rigged Cutter Vivid was built in 2008 by Ocean Yacht services at Dorset Lake shipyard in Poole The boat was designed by the legendry GL Watson in 1886 she was built to the original drawings. The hull is diagonal strip planked with a layer of GRP on both sides making for a very stiff hull that does not leak. The construction above the deck is traditional, the deck is swept teak planks with a T&G ceder sub deck. The rails are all teak whilst the cleats & tiller are Oak. The interior is a mixsture of ash & Iroko and the spard are a mixsture of Douglas fir and Sitke spruce. Vivid has been wintered ashore under a full fitted cover whilst her mast and spars have been stored in a boat shed. The interior has been stripped and stored in dry storage.
