1982 Moody 29 for sale in Kent
The Moody 29 is a deservedly popular family cruising yacht, with more modern lines than the earlier Moody 30, or the Westerly Konsort alternative. The Moody 29 combines safe comfortable cruising with performance and spacious accommodation well suited for family, short-handed sailors, or even longer distance cruisers. This Moody 29 is the desirable fin keel version for improved performance and has a good inventory including hot water and comprehensive navigation equipment.

Accommodation :
The Moody 29 provides accommodation for up to six occupants in two cabins, offering approximately 5’10 of headroom. The fore cabin offers a double V berth with an infill, ample storage including a wardrobe, cupboard, and side shelves, as well as an opening deck hatch overhead for ventilation and natural light.
Aft of the fore cabin lies the heads compartment, furnished with a white sink set in a vanity unit complete with pressurized hot and cold water to starboard, and a marine toilet to port. Additionally, the head’s features a built-in shower tray and a mirror.
The saloon presents two settee berths on the port and starboard sides, flanking a drop-down central table with opening leaves. Under-seat stowage and numerous lockers and cupboards are spread throughout the saloon. The starboard side settee easily converts to a double berth with an infill.
Situated on the port side aft of the saloon, the galley features a single stainless-steel sink equipped with pressurized hot and cold water. The galley also includes a gimballed 2-burner gas cooker with a grill and oven, a counter-loading 12v fridge, and ample storage space.
On the starboard side, across from the galley, is a forward-facing navigation station ideal for accommodating full-size charts. The table beneath provides storage space for multiple charts, while also housing the navigational instrumentation and the electrical distribution panel.
Behind the chart table lies the single quarter berth, with under berth storage and shelving. This Moody 29 also includes a Saloon CD/ Radio, and the Galley and heads pressurised water is supplied via a calorifier heated by the engine and 240v immersion heater.
The companionway leads up to a large aft cockpit for a boat of its size with bench seating. The cockpit also has an array of navigation equipment and engine controls at the rear of the vessel.

History & Construction:
This Moody 29 was built in 1982 by Marine Projects Plymouth, to a Angus Primrose design. The yacht has a white GRP hull and superstructure and decks with non-slip surfaces. She benefits from cast iron fin keel, tiller steering with a transom hung rudder, with a self-draining cockpit and anchor well, alloy toe rails and sugar scoop transom. She was last out of the water in 2023 when the hull was polished and anodes changed. Owner is only selling due to a lack time.

This Moody 29 has a Bermudan sloop masthead rig with a deck stepped silver anodised aluminium mast and boom, secured by stainless steel standing rigging. The age of the standing rigging is unknown
The yacht has a furling headsail and slab reefing mainsail, with lazy jacks and stackpack and Terylene running rigging that was replaced in 2018.

Mechanical Systems
This Moody 29 has a single, 24HP 2004 Bukh diesel engine powering a shaft-driven three-bladed feathering propeller with a rope cutter. The Bukh is supplied by a 91-litre capacity mild steel fuel tank with Morse controls. This engine was last serviced in April 2023 by the owner.
This yacht will cruise at approximately 6 knots and has an approximate maximum speed of 7 knots. The engine hours are unknown.
Electrical Systems
