This 1972 classic Macwester 27 offers five berths in a single cabin and saloon with a linear galley. She is fitted with bilge keels and a skeg hung rudder. The MacWester 27 boasts a simple yet practical layout. She ia renowned for its excellent handling under sail. This yacht is set up for weekend sailing and benefits from a recent new cooker, a 20 Litre freshwater capacity with a 60 Litre fuel tank. Accommodation :
This Macwester 27 provides comfortable accommodation for up to five people across a single cabin and the saloon, with a maximum headroom of 5ft 7.
The forepeak features a V-berth with ample under-berth, and shelve storage to both port and starboard, this berth also easily converts it into a double berth via an infill, with natural light provided by an overhead deck hatch.
Moving aft, the separate heads compartment to the starboard side with a marine toilet.
Located opposite to the heads compartment, the galley is equipped with a gimbaled 2-burner gas hob with an oven and grill, a single stainless-steel sink with manual cold water and ample storage space. This Macwester 27 has a 20 Litre freshwater capacity.
The saloon features a table to port with booth seating which can easily be converted into a double berth, a settee to starboard that also converts to a single berth, both seating areas consist of storage under the seats and on shelves behind them. This Macwester 27 also benefits from a CD and Radio.
Ascending the companionway leads to the spacious aft cockpit, featuring bench seating for up to five people and generous storage in a deep locker. The cockpit instrumentation includes a compass, depth gauge, and speed log, with engine controls positioned under the cockpit sole.

History & Construction:
Constructed by Macwester Marine Company Limited between 1970 and 1980 according to an C. J. S. Roy design. Featuring a black GRP hull adorned with a teak toe rail, self-draining cockpit, and white GRP decks and white non-slip painted surfaces. Its stability is ensured by bilge keels, skeg rudder with tiller steering.
The boat is currently ashore, and she was last antifouled in 2023 when the anodes were last changed.

Sails and Spars
This Macwester 27 features a Masthead Bermudan Sloop Rig, with a deck-stepped aluminium mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging. Equipped with a furling headsail and a slab reef mainsail with lazyjacks. This allows for efficient sailing in various conditions. The age of the standing and running rigging is unknown.

Mechanical Systems:
This Macwester 27 is equipped with a Petter Diesel engine, installed in 1972 propelling a shaft-mounted three-bladed fixed propeller, operated via Morse controls. Fuel is stored in a 60-litre steel tank. This Macwester 27 can achieve a cruising speed of approximately 4 knots, with a maximum speed of around 6 knots.
Electrical Systems:
The Macwester 27 is equipped with two 12-volt batteries, comprising one for engine use and one for domestic purposes. These batteries charge directly from the engine alternator. The engine battery was replaced in 2022.
