Owner’s Comments:
Short history
The yacht was built in Italy via the Dutch dealer Messink Yachts to racing specification. She came out about 300kg lighter than the normal racing version. At that time the boat had a carbon mast. She was very successful and won multiple races and National championships.
The second owner used the boat mainly for long offshore cruising, until the boat got damaged and lost her mast in the Caribbean (2014). A family member and present owner of the second owner took ownership of the boat and refitted the hull, placed a new aluminium mast and sails. Hereafter she was used for racing and cruising again. The boat sailed her last race in 2019, which was a double handed Fastnet race.
The last 2 years the boat stayed in Mallorca and got recently her deck freshly painted and a new updated mast, extensive engine maintenance, upgraded refrigerator.
The Grand Soleil 40 is still a very competitive boat and could be easily raced. If you fancy cruising she is ready to go and will bring you to your dream destination quickly.
Riepilogo
The Grand Soleil 40 made its debut in 2000 as a very high performance cruiser/racer from the respected del Pardo yard in Italy - and went on to become World and European IMS Champion in Class C2. Race model with the higher performance Sports rig and its 3 sets of spreaders.
Her layout is the 3 double cabin (4th double berth in the saloon) with 2 heads. And, as with the entire Grand Soleil range, her performance is greatly enhanced by a hot galvanised steel structure as part of her hull which gives excellent stiffness and a uniform distribution of stress from the keel, mast and shrouds.
She is been sold with excellent B&G electronics package and Sails.
