Flipper is a Finnish boat brand that is very well known and reputable in Nordic waters and has models in the size of approx. 20-33 feet, with generally functional, neat boats with a sporty design.
The 880 ST model is of the 'Hard Top' (or 'Sport Top') type, which reduces the need for canopy-fixing but which at the same time gives a feeling of being close to nature, as in an open boat. In other words, it is a hybrid between a daycruiser and a cabin boat, and in more concrete terms, it is the large sliding sunroof and the flexible canopy in the stern that are the enablers.
The layout is, in addition to the hardtop (ST), of both walkaround and aft cabin-type, which makes it easy to move around and handle the boat, respectively it gives a more private feeling when there is little distance between the forward- and aft cabin.
Midships there is an inviting wooden table with up to 7 seats in close proximity to a kitchenette and a fridge. Two of the sofa's backrests can also be turned/folded and can then form a forward-facing passenger seat for two, or a sunbed in the aft.
In the bow the front berth, is located which has good light from both the hull window and the deck window, as well as good storage.
Close by is a separate WC with a flush toilet, where the WC is both spacious for its size and has well-designed storage spaces for hygiene items.
Among the equipment list are:
12" GPS, echo sounder, bow thruster, trim tabs heater, anchor winch, hot water system, bed mattress (fore+aft), curtains (fore), stove, stereo with speakers, shore power connection, teak laminate deck, etc.
The motorization consists of a double assembly of Mercury Verado 200 which gives a pleasant cruising speed of about 24 knots and a top speed of about 36 knots. The engines also have very few running hours for their age.
The Flipper 880 ST is probably best described as a smart all-round boat where appearance and driving pleasure meet function and versatility; for those who want to explore the archipelago safely, comfortably and at length.
