The Elan 43 is a sailboat from the Slovenian shipyard Elan Yachts and was introduced in 1989. Known for its combination of comfort and performance, this sailboat is a popular model among sailors looking for a comfortable sailing experience on both short and long distances sailing trips. The current owner is selling the boat due to lack of time. Renovation has begun under deck, and a lot of equipment and spare parts are included. Also a new winter stand is included. The buyer must expect hours and costs to complete cosmetic updates - f you are ready for this, you can make a good deal, as this Elan is sold at a very fair price.
The boat has slim lines and a modern look that still looks timeless. It is 43 feet (about 13 meters long and about 4 meters wide) and has a wing keel (protruding 2 meters), which gives it good stability and efficient sail guidance. The fiberglass hull is known for its good sailing ability. It is easy to steer and reacts quickly to the tiller. It has a good balance between comfort and performance and is suitable for both leisurely cruising and racing.
Under deck there is a spacious and well-functioning interior that can accommodate a total of 6 people in the three cabins. A saloon with a dining table and seating area, a kitchen with all necessary facilities, newer oven/stove, fridge and sink (pressure water hot and cold), two toilets/baths (one toilet is electric).
The boat has a furling foresail, genoa, mainsail and extra foresail, all of older date but functional and still usable. All ropes are led to the cockpit and can easily be sailed by two people (possibly single-handed). The entire rig was renovated at the yard in 2023, with the replacement of individual mitts and new Dyna falls.
The Elan 43 is a modern boat, created for longer stays on board, - there is an incredible amount of storage space everywhere and good standing height, which gives a good feeling of really good space and room to be in.
The Elan 43 is a frequently used boat in the charter industry – and not without reason. - There is room for enthusiasm here - and the boat is so solidly built that it also holds up to the different handling of the boat by many different skippers.
The cockpit works fine while sailing and in port. There is room for everyone around the table - and a wide scan deck and a large integrated bathing platform invite to coziness and relaxation - under sail and in port.
