Dubble & Jesse 48 Nordsee Le basset was built in 1972 by dubbel & jesse, in germany, the state of the art for boats in the 70's and until now. strong, robust and capable of crossing any ocean, nordsee is a boat that belonged to your parents' generation and will outlive you and probably your kids. she crossed the atlantic many times in the hands of her first owner and ended up in the north of spain, still strong and very well taken care of. the owner, though, got older and had to let her go. when she arrived in the mediterranean sea, after a winter cruise from galicia, she sank in the port due to someone's negligence. apparently, the bilge pump (she only had 1) was not working and somehow, she had a small leak. after 15 days of laying in the harbour, she went down. she was refloated after 6 hours and, as far as i know, the engine and the interior were immediately washed and cleaned. the engine was running (but not now) and she was back in the water where she stayed for more than 3 months without any incident or leak. she is back in dry dock because it is cheaper to have her out.She is looking for a new owner that has the will to make her great again. someone who sees the beauty and uniqueness in her. she has a very strong hull, masts and sails but all electrics and electronics need to be checked and/or re done. Surveyed in 2020. the report states: "focusing first on the watertight and structural integrity of the hull we found the shell plating to be in a satisfactory condition. |
