The ‘Gaff Cutter’ rig and shallow 2’ 6”draught of the Cornish Crabber 26 has proven to be the best combination for the small family cruiser and our highly specified rigging makes for ease of handling and great performance in all conditions.
The interior layout includes 4 berths comprising of a large forward cabin containing a good sized double berth and two generous settee berths in the saloon. The galley area is well equipped with sink, full oven / grill and lots of storage space for everything you need for a well fed cruise. The separate heads compartment has a shower, sea toilet and hanging locker. Unusually for a boat this size, there is full standing headroom throughout the boat.
She is powered by a 3 cylinder Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine driving 3 bladed prop behind the shallow draft keel. Her modern gaff rig is supported by an ingenious system of aft mounted spreaders and low stretch rigging making her the simplest performance gaffer ever built. Deck gear is to the same high quality as has become synonymous with the Cornish Crabber brand.
Construction
Hand laid GRP hull, deck and interior mouldings.
The hull and deck joint is by way of a ‘biscuit tin’ joint with GRP bonding .
Twin external solid teak rubbing bands.
GRP rudder with stainless steel hangings and tiller hood. Wooden tiller.
Ballast is encapsulated lead castings around a galvanised lifting centre plate controlled from the cockpit.
Engineering
Yanmar 3YM20 inboard diesel engine with 62ltr tank and associated engineering and stern gear.
Fixed 3 blade propeller.
Dedicated engine starting battery and house battery with isolation switch, electric switch panel.
Fuel & Water gauges.
Hot water calorifier feeding galley and heads with shower outlet.

The main mast and spars are from Sitka Spruce, treated with Sikkens as standard.
The standing rigging is in 1 x 19 stainless wire and all bespoke mast fittings are in 316 stainless steel.
Sails are available in dark tan or cream and include mainsail, jib & staysail with both headsails on rolling wire luffs.
